Hi,
I am currently looking for a few beta testers to try a Java program I recently released to automate back testing strategies on the Trading View site. This program will most likely be beneficial to you if you are already familiar with the Trading View platform in addition to the back testing functionality.
The program works by reading the user’s list of pairs and candles from a text file they would like to back test and the strategy to use. The program can use either Chrome or Firefox to open TradingView and cycle through the pairs and candles in the order given while the trade list data is scraped and stored in a CSV file. An Excel VBA powered workbook is provided to parse the trade list data and re-create the chart from TradingView’s “Strategy Tester” tab for every cycled pair/candle combination.
While experimenting with a few trade bots and day trading techniques, for me, I have found the most success so far using the AutoView plugin for Trading View to do the buying via alerts that are triggered based on PineScript driven strategies and letting a trade bot do the selling for micro profit gains. I was back testing quite frequently to find the best candle sizes to use for my alerts. The program is my attempt at putting all the back test results in a comprehensive report that can be analyzed easier.
During development of this program over the past several months, with no surprise, I found that 2 to 3 times per month, maintenance updates are necessary due to web element structure changes on the TradingView website. I have worked on minimizing the number of elements needed for the program to work properly. Results of the beta testing will be an opportunity to see if the program is viable enough to properly maintain with new features and timely updates for a limited number of people.
