Where did you mess up? It would be great if you can open a scam accusation or give more information about the service since it will help members from repeating the same mistakes.

ChipMixer, BitBlender are the only two options that come to my mind when it comes to reputed mixers.

I looked at his first post (only has two posts at the time of writing), and it seems that he used a fake mixer called coinmixer dot es. It's sad that these things happen, but hey, the best way to learn is to lose money and from there improve. I hope it wasn't a lot, but still, it sucks regardless of the amount.

I always stick to one mixer, which used to be Bitmixer back in the days, and now ChipMixer. I might look like a shill considering my signature, but you'll like the experience there with the various chip sizes you can withdraw at any given time. Try with a small amount first, and see for yourself how it works.

I also recommend chipmixer, i already used it several time and no problem so far.
But, if you don't like it, then go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2827109.0 and chose mixer that you want. That list is about legit bitcoin mixer, but just in case, you can ask in there if the mixer turn into scam or not.

Lots of mixer on this list, but I'll try to suggest for the best mixers I've ever known which are chipmixer, bitblender and bestmixer. Clearnet and tor link can be found on that list.

Yeah I made the mistake of using coinmixer.es it wasn't a huge amount but enough to be fairly annoyed at my stupid mistake. I'll give chipmixer a go!

Chipmixer is the most well known bitcoin mixer though and I would say bitblender is 2nd on the list.

You'll find a number of us promoting and supporting ChipMixer. Personally, I think it's the one most able to give you the randomness you'll require to obtain the most effective mixing. Also, as far as I know, the only one with a "pay what you want" fee structure.

Maybe he simply wants to protect his privacy, as is his right, and some would argue, as is his duty, Just because people want privacy, shouldn't be assumed they have something to hide. That's the narrative you're being led to believe.

Dumb question, really, because you directly assume that someone using a mixer is doing shady business.

Coinbase's policies are very harsh when it comes to gambling, so it might very well be that OP wanted to bet somewhere, but needed to send his coins to a mixer and from there straight to whatever online gambling site.

People also use mixers to get rid of exchange taint or for other privacy reasons. I do that too, and I'm happy that we have these services providing the features we need to add an additional layer of much needed privacy.
