Hi there everyone !

I'm  new here on the forum, don't know if i can create a topic if i can't my apologies in advance.

I would like to know what is the best software to mine with my GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 at my laptop since i don't have a better hardware yet.

I've mined a little bit of bitcoin with a software called computta but it seems that i wasn't getting any funds i was at the crypto compare and show me that most profitable coins were Monero and Litecoin and it also recomend this forum and have a link to a program there that send me to this forum.

So i would like to know what is the best crypto coin to mine and what do you think about what is the best to mine this days since my eletricty costs are free.

Best Regards

Manuel

to mine with my GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 at my laptop

1. You cannot mine Bitcoin with anything else than Bitcoin ASIC. Anything else will probably get you no payout (under the minimum limits). Read more.

2. Laptops are not designed to run 24/7. Laptop GPUs are not designed for continuous heavy load. So whatever you'd get to mine (some altcoins do give you coins if mined with GPU), it's not worth it because there's quite a chance you will burn the laptop GPU, the laptop or even your house.

3. If you still want to go on, Mining (Altcoins) board is your friend.

i've already mine in bitcoin with this laptop and  it was ok, it's a gaming laptop, i know is not like an Asic or a antminer but i can't afford one of those right now , i was woundering what would be the best and easiest software to mine Monero or Litecoin that are the most profitable to my  GPU/CPU right now as i see on Cripto compare, so what software do you guys recomend ?

Leave that poor laptop alone.

The GPU on that laptop isn't as powerful as the desktop version. It is a mobile GPU. You'll fry your laptop in no time if you insist to mine on it. And for what? Making $0.10 in a month? That's if you are lucky.

If you still want the name of the software,

Nicehash it is.

How much ram does your 1060 have? If you got the 6GB version then you can mine ETH with it.

You won't make lots, just go to

https://whattomine.com/coins

Click GPU, select 1 for GTX 1060 and see for yourself. You will make like a quarter a day with ETH however the electricity cost at 10 cents per KWH will result in a net profit of a nickel, since its a laptop and you need to keep other components running, most likely you won't make anything.

If you still want to do this, then at least remove your battery so it doesn't explode with the excess heat.

You could do the following:

The first option is the easiest one.
For the other two options you have to create a wallet, choose a mining pool and configure the mining software.

Litecoin is can ASIC coin. It makes no sense to mine it with your GPU.

Your laptop won't last long if you insist mining with it but if you are going to do it just for experienced then go on, anyway it's your laptop. You may try mining monero

Would suggest the same, even PC version of gtx 1060 isn't powerful and your GPU is just a mobile version of that model. As you know, laptops don't have great cooling system, they are designed to be portable versions of pc and be nearly as powerful as it is but mining would fry your laptop, renderig isn't great option too when you own laptop, better to use on softer tasks, use rarely for rendering but not ever for mining.

You better have an extended warranty, because if you cant afford an ASIC you cant afford to replace that laptop after you kill it mining a few pennies
