More charitable organizations around the globe have begun to accept donations and funds in terms of different cryptocurrencies. Now Binance has used to serve the bududa victims with their own blockchain tech add value to the Binance community. This will surely lead to more and more people and large scale firms getting into the usage of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

It is good to note that some charity organization recognized the use of cryptocurrencies globally and accepts them as donations. The are blockchain charitable organizations that are helping humanity through blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

This move skewered two things: helping those who are in need in Bududa and projecting an image that blockchain tech isn't just confined on the areas of fintech and logistics. It seems that charities are also getting engaged in matters concerning cryptocurrencies, especially getting donations using these as a media and some people are willing to help using it, too. Little by little, this world will slowly accept that cryptocurrencies are also useful in situations such as this.

It's amazing that Binance really knows what is needed now, namely public trust. Starting with good things like this that will improve public perception of crypto, is very inspirational and this will have a positive impact on crypto because this is an important key so crypto is more acceptable to society.

Hopefully others can also participate

The initiative is beautiful but if we compare the number of victims and those affected by the disaster to the daily disasters of the continent, the number is small compared to the victims of war, political violence and hunger in Africa.
The good point is the initiative comes from a well-known firm that will reduce the link between Bitcoin and criminal activities.

I wondered how these citizens could benefit from personal wallets as it was difficult to access basic services. "The Internet is a luxury," as well as price volatility will make it risky.

Ok, so I read the story from here:
https://www.binance.com/en/blog/299480887055900672/Binance-Charity-in-Action-Empowering-Bududa-Through-Blockchain

I must be missing something but this kind of usage of the blockchain is like a bureaucracy parody from Asterix and Obelix.

So:
- a team of inspectors went there and identified the victims in need of help
- then somebody from binance performed a second verification to link them to an account
- then they trained them to create and use a wallet in which they would receive donations
- with those donations, under supervision, they could use it to buy essential stuff from a predefined list
- the help was then delivered to them and distributed using their IDs

Seriously, why use the blockchain for it when an excel table could have solved all this in minutes?

Yes, it was good at donation for the cause, this I won't deny, but the redistribution process was so complicated that if it were more than 72 households probably it would have taken years to complete.

With the recent charity from primedice and now binance we are seeing the profits of crypto businesses are going to charities. Unlike the wall street riches and billionaires who try to keep their money in their pocket these business actually help people who are in need. This is the power of bitcoin, it gives everyone a fair shot at being successful and if you give a chance to everyone to be rich than you will see more people helping out others.

The rich of the traditional monetary system fail to help the people in need, Jeff Bezos who made his money from working his employees to death (people actually died working in amazon warehouses) paid only 20 million dollars in charity this year, 20 million dollars may look like its a lot but remember this dude made 24 BILLION DOLLAR profit this year, that s less than 0.1% of his JUST PROFITS going to charity, we need more bitcoin companies to jump in on this charity thing to show the world how different we are.

Charity programs in the scope of blockchain and crypto will provide a positive development to the world, the reputation of Bitcoin will be better than the ico project that calls fraud to investors, I appreciate this.

The main key to success is in the value of assets that are getting more valuable. Recommended Crypto Trading platform Binance.com

Much of these necessary steps are due to the fact that we still do not have a world where cryptos are widely used. So one of the goals of this charity would be to prove useful to them. But for this to occur, it was first necessary to demonstrate how it would be used. It's a great marketing case for the Exchange and for cryptos, using a charity to cover... Another issue is the lack of transparency. Cryptos are more transparent processes than excel.

Most charitable organizations have major issues of organization, corruption and lack of transparency in their accounting. It's like paving a street that is not yet being used. Just creating the street could already be enough for that moment, but paving it could speed up the whole process that would otherwise take many more years.

I think Binance's big mistake was to use computers. Smartphones are much simpler and more practical to use. And they are already widely used even in very poor regions.

According to this report, more than 50% of the population has a cell phone. And 16% have a smatphone. I can not understand why companies related to cryptos still focus so much on computers at the expense of smartphones.

I think this is good for the development of blockchain, because it indirectly introduces blockchain to the wider community. besides that binance indicates that they are not only looking for material, but care about humanity

You should read again the text.
They didn't use cryptos for anything other than identification.

Quote
On January 22, the 72 household heads gathered at the district center. They used their crypto accounts to get much-needed aid from donation suppliers, with the help of the five trainers alongside staff from Binance Charity and CSF.

They just received the money in their binance accounts, the staff exchanged the money for goods and delivered them.

The whole crypto step was just an unnecessary publicity stunt.
I agree with helping people, but if you do it, do without all this charade.

Look where that village is and how the area looks like, I doubt you get data transfer there.
Secondary, from the article you posted, it clearly says that the price of a phone is prohibitive for 1/3 of the population.
I have a feeling that the people living in a village with no roads, no doors or windows in all the houses in the pics are able to afford one.
