I did not get notifications when my posts get removed. I'm not sure if this is a setting or something, a forum admin would have to clarify.

Might depend on the moderator.  I definitely got a PM from theymos when one of my posts was removed and I know that the other people who had posts removed at the same time got one too.  It mightn't be automated though.

Definitely not automated.  I've PMed some people when I've removed stuff to let them know why, I've also just deleted stuff that's clearly spam from a new account.
