So im literally a curioused person which wanted to have more informations about Deep Web and its wierd and creepy videos and stuffs. So I recently streaming youtube for a couple of hours, so basic compared to what deep web has, but after about 10 videos,i found this gem.

So for those who have no time watching a 14:27 minute video, ill make a summary for you.

So theres this youtuber who wants to access deep web, just a curious guy like me. Then after a boring introduction, he finally opens the site. So to make the story short. He finds all illegal stuffs like hacking, buying other peoples account including paypal and even bank accounts perhaps, steps on how to do illegal things and a bunch of drug dealers all for suprisingly low price. Whats surprising is this.

WTF. I really stumbled that even the dark webs and illegal organizations only accepts BTC because of its anonimity.

Is not much of a surprise that cryptocurrency would be used for clandestine or illegal deals, its cheap, can be easily transferred from one state to another, and to an extent the individuals involved can keep their identity safe.

A lot of people are ignorant of the dark web, and how it affects them.
People should refrain from publicizing such information as bank details, personal identity cards and so on. This can all be put together and your identity stolen.

I've never checked out dark web, but I'll use some common sense / logic. There are more directions here:

1. I expect that some of those "deals" are fake, like everywhere in the world. So obviously a mean of payment that's not reversible is preferred by the sellers.

2. Since the things sold/bought there are usually (?) illegal, linking them to somebody's name, address, face.. are clearly avoided.
And then the next question arise: how comes they don't use anonymous coins and risk (just a little, I know) to use Bitcoin?

The major reason why many embrace Blockchain Technology is simply because of Bitcoin which is the mainstream manifestation of the Blockchain. Bitcoin as a decentralized platform ensure individual data or transaction kept secret or anonymous. Many are on the opinion that its been used for illicit activities on the web such as you rightly said but i debug their opinion to be wrong because as a decentralized platform like Bitcoin FREEDOM is certain.

All illegal activities and criminals first started using technological advances because they give to them the competitive advantage of doing their operations without anyone knowing or tracing them.
When I first read that Bitcoin is the main payment method of people on the dark web, made me sure that this invention is going to be a hot topic in the world in subsequent years.

Once I visited Deep Web using Tor but I am confused and I ask myself, what is the next thing I want to do. I only curious with the name of "Deep Web" and search the links to browse with Tor. Then I visit some marketplace, and I see that there are many things offers in that market. You can find anything you want including illegal things. But then I decide to quit and close the connection because I am too afraid to continue because I don't have any reference about Deep Web.

Its not shocking because bitcoin is a good way to hide their identity and use it on illegal things like selling drugs etc.. we cant deny the fact that bitcoin is used in illegal things but no one can stop an individual to do it if they want even bitcoin doesnt exist.

I am not sure of the deepweb because few only venture on it and I have no idea what is happening on that side of the web, anyway if cryptocurrency is used on those illegal transactions I am sure that even fiat currency is used to make transaction on the deep web. Let us not point out only on cryptocurrency on the use of transactions on the deepweb because people are the ones that abuse this technology for their own selfish attitude.

Well, this is nothing new... It's been known in the community for years, and i guess it's even common knowledge for "mainstream" people after the silk road founder was caught and jailed years ago. All newspapers in my country reported how much bitcoins were seized from him, so every man in the street that has any interest in the dark web or crypto currencys at all has known the use of crypto on darknet markets for years... I don't know why it comes as a suprise to some people in 2019.

That being said: a lot of the adds on those darknet marketplaces are real... Some are fake, some are honeypots, but a lot of them are "genuine".

Also, bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous... If you don't know what you're doing, and you're using it to buy stuff on a darknet market, there is a decent chance you'll end up on a suspect list of  a 3 letter agency sooner or later. Some marketplaces have switched to monero because of these anonimity-issues.

Disclaimer: i'm not a darknet user anymore. I've run some hidden services for LEGAL websites for a couple of years (but they're all down now), and i've visited several darknet markets in the past to see what the fuss was all about, but i've never purchased or sold anything illegal, not on the darknet, not on the clearnet, not IRL.

It's a little bit funny that you mention it as if it's the biggest news you've ever heard.
Darknet markets were one of the first use-cases were Bitcoin was used for e-commerce on a massive scale.

They've been around for a long time and there's no denying that these markets have had a pretty big influence on Bitcoin's price.
Maybe less now, but historically I think it's very likely that it created some of the initial demand for Bitcoin.

Since this is an internetwide community, has anyone here access deepweb like him and purchased anything using bitcoin? I m really curioused about this one. Anyone can access the 'deep web' through the TOR browser, just make sure you disable Javascript before you do anything.
There are markets that also use other coins than just Bitcoin. I think Wall Street Market supports Monero for example.

Not surprised knowing that the merchants found in deep web are mostly drug peddlers and nefarious people wanting to make a quick buck. Also, since the rise of bitcoin back in 2012, drug dealers are already making the most out of the pseudo-anonymous and secure nature of bitcoin, which ultimately led to Ross Ulbricht's arrest and the shut down of the Silk Road. Bitcoin is considered as money, so there's really not a shock value if the deep web is making use of this currency for their illegal transactions.

I remember when there was a video leaked of a small girl dropped with melted candles sticks and the watchers paid bitcoin to see the vid. That was my first impression to bitcoin being used as a dirty money. But later I got a better understanding why its being use in the deep web since it makes you anonymous.

Or these videos are recorded and just being posted on this website. I mean these websites could be easily accessed by mediocre computer geeks today. Anything in this world has two good and bad sides, bitcoin is no exception. However, bitcoin is just a new way of trading, you can't blame it for being evil or illegal ... it depends on the purpose of the user. I am not very knowledgeable about Deep web, but the reason why illegal activities usually only trade in bitcoin is because of its anonymity. But if you talk about which currency is used for the most illegal trading, I believe it is USD. What do you think deep web compared to the rest of this world will be, when the whole world is using USD, so USD is the currency to use for the most illegal

We are in 2019 now and you started this topic now buddy, people used to deal with bitcoin four years bank in dark webs but when people were getting caught left and right they understood you cannot deal illegal things with bitcoin as it is not an anonymous coin when the transactions are public and anyone with skills can follow each and every track. I challenge you, can you pin point one dark web site that accepts bitcoin, i am sure no one is accepting bitcoin for years.

There are some scams, obviously, but there are also legit sellers with a good record of selling stuff without any problems. It's a matter of finding the right seller. The use of bitcoin isn't because of the irreversible nature of the network, it's mainly because it offers the privacy and anonimity that darknet markets users want.

Actually,  I've read that over the last few years there's been a surge in demand of privacy coins like Monero and Zcash, but still, Bitcoin is the main currency in darknet markets. About the risk, if you know what you're doing regarding your opsec, you shouldn't have any problems.

The first time that I always remember when I know about bitcoin is anonymity, which mean I can do anything with bitcoin without known by everyone in this case for my government who has authority to take care of illegal things in their country. This things being one of the reason each government decided to ban bitcoin in their country. They have perspective when bitcoin can be use as legal tool for payment system in their country there will be many illegal cases that they cannot track easily (especially a case appertain to money). Accordingly it's not weird when deep web to be used for some people who want to buy something illegal and they use bitcoin as a tool for transaction.

Everything has its own advantages and disadvantages. Like Gun has both good and bad uses, we can't quit using Guns since they have a negative impact also. Likewise, the use of BTC on the dark web is a negative aspect of BTC, don't forget its has many good uses also
