A combination of every single faucet-like "get free BTC" deal I could find. Roll Eyes

I used to skeptical of bitcoin, mainly because I couldn't see any way of getting some in the UK. Then along came Intersango, who I've got all my bitcoins through so far. I live in the UK and as far as I can determine there aren't any other ways of doing it that aren't risky, expensive or complicated. Unless someone can enlighten me otherwise, that is?   Smiley

I got my first coins by mining when the difficulty was around 12. Took me less than a day. Smiley

MtGox accepts local UK deposits...

I knew you could deposit to MtGox via international wire transfer, although I don't think I can do that online and I live out in the sticks. Also I think the bank fees are sizable for international transfers? I might sign up and give it a go anyway.

Well, only 2 hours 15 minutes online and 6 posts to go I guess.  Undecided

Bought my first coins at 24¢ from a listener to my podcast by bank transfer as an alternative to paypal for moving money from Australia to US to pay my college loans.

I'm an enthusiast. Smiley

I now help others in Australia get there first (and subsequent) coins easily at http://au.spendbitcoins.com.

How long did it take you?

Not sure. But definitely less than 30-40 minutes of actual work.
Only did one survey, the rest I got from videos.

Well I signed up with Mt.Gox as well and it looks as though it's not as complicated as I first thought.

Could you do this full time? 1 bitcoin for 3 mins is reasonable pay for the locals here in Thailand.
Every video gives you 0.01 bitcoins. Surveys give you around 0.10-0.30 bitcoins.
Surveys you can usually only do once per day. You can watch how many videos you'd like, but only one time per video, per address.
