What is Quality post really ?

If you are very active on this forum then you already meet with this word, Quality Post !

What is Quality post really?
Since merit system implemented Quality Post word become one of the most used word. But no one describe what is quality post. When questions come about merit, at the same time answers will come about quality post. And this is the only truth that if you are not able to make quality post then you will unable to earn merit.

I don't care if there is other thread about this but I like to describe myself what is quality post in my opinions. May be other members will not agree with me so they can leave here their opinions also by reply on this thread. Perhaps it will help newbie to make quality post. Let me describe below;

1. Useful topic; I always consider useful topic as a quality post and I send merit them if I have. Those post or topics help other users,  that kind of post I consider as quality post. For example, you made a post about how to save your wallet, if your post is unique then obviously I will consider it as a Quality post.

2. Constructive reply; Its doesn't mean you have to make always new topic in order to make quality post. You can make quality post even others post by reply your own thought. Constructive reply means discussion on topic and make best answer or solution. For example someone ask how can I save my wallet, your reply should on this topic and you can share your tips. If its unique and best idea then I will consider it's a Quality post.

3. Infographics topic; Sometimes need make post with infographics for better explanation. For example how to sing a message with btc address, you can make this post with infographics, so other users will understand easily what you want to say. Most of forum people's aren't native English, so they will easily understand your explanation. That kind of post I will consider as Quality post.

4. Analysis post; You can make topic or reply with analysis. It could be about this forum or crypto-currency. Sometimes we can learn lot about this kind of post. Form example you can make analysis post about merit, trust and other crypto related. We can get new data from your analys, but your analysis should be unique. This kind of post I will consider as a Quality post.

5. Historical post; Most of us very weak on history really. Or we don't bother to know. So if you can make historical post then it might help us to know about something. For example you can make post about history of bitcoin. But your post always should be unique, research yourself and write it. For historical post you need to know everything about your subject. This kind of historical post I will consider as Quality post.

6. Experimental post; You can make experimental post about forum or crypto-currenc. For example you can make experimental post about blockchain, how its work and how could we improve etc. That kind of post I will consider as Quality post.

7. Suggestional post; Suggestional post is more important for newbie. You can make any suggestional post that would help forum users. Also you can make new and unique post about forum improvement. If your suggestion is unique and useful then I will consider it as a Quality post. Don't repeat old suggestions and don't just copy others ideas.

8. Help community; You can help community by lot of way. There is not any limitations, like expose scam guidelines about forum related or crypto related. For example somewhere you found phishing website, you can share it with community so that they can avoid it and save their money. This kind of post I will consider Quality post.

Now come to proper English,  this is the requirement of Quality post. Your English should proper like grammar, spell etc. Reality is we can't make high Quality post without know proper English. Although my English is broken but I am trying to learn more. So if you are weak in English then you have to give priority to learn it. Always you have to make unique post, it's very important to make quality post. Copy others post or idea will not consider quality post in my opinions.

However, I just share what is on my mind. If you can share about your thoughts, so newbie will know something new and they can make Quality post.

Not all have its proper English mambo jumbo when getting merit I myself don't have proper English and you don't have proper English also OP, still we got merit. Even then and than I don't know and lose vs loss or lost sometimes confusing still got merit. Nothing wrong with having a post with sources or have some idea from others. Even this post is from other users idea and I have read so many posts like this. People got an idea from other people not on my mind the only thingy, ain't no one is an is-land mate.

Never mind, but you should encourage newbie to learn. This topic as like a suggestion and you should give proper suggestions. Is it necessary to mention that we don't need proper English to earn merit although we know it. Should we not try to learn? Use of proper English increase chance to earn merit, I have missed lot on beginning. Your intention shouldn't just gain merit, your intention should make quality post. Doesn't mean that you will receive merit every quality post because every different people's have different judgment. For example this topic you didn't consider a quality post but some other might be consider it as a quality post.

So encourage people's to quality post then they will make at least good post.

Language barrier should not be a major issue, as far as one can communicate effectively for readers to be able to read through whatever errors the write-up may contain, then the message has been passed. It would be also be impressive to see progress in a users grammar over time, it shows effort and should be rewarded.

Learning a new language is not an easy task, hence there are local sections where one can discuss in their native dialect conveniently.

For me, a quality post is a post where you get knowledge from reading it. I like your conclusion which sorts of quality posts are very popular. A quality posts is always easy to read and that's important to consider it as a Merit worthy posts.

Another issue when it comes to bad quality posts is poor formatting. Formatting is important and can really ruin or improve your posts:  

- Bold, underlined and italic fonts as well as colors can be useful to give your text a structure, but don't use them too much. Especially too much colors can be very annoying.
- Use tables to visualize your data.
- Don't post text walls, divide your post in useful sections.
- Make proper quotes. Don't quote the entire OP or the entire post you want respond to. Using -snip- to shorten the quoted posts can be helpful.
- Don't use capslock in your posts.
- Don't increase the size of your text. Normal font size is pretty fine.

OP is a good example for a decent but good formatted post.


And sometimes it's better to keep a post short, sum up a point you want to add to the discussion to avoid a long post which can be said in a few words.

A quality post in my opinion is a post made with the sole purpose of either informing, educating or answering a users questions thereby adding value to the forum through positive contribution by the users involved. Now when this type of posts inrespective of their qualities are been recycled numerous times by other users, they lose quality to me with exception to few (e.g informative posts and replies answering OP questions.)

Nice try OP. Its really important for our newbies to learn proper english. Without having this its not an easy task to participate on our forum several sections discussion. I beleive every thread that written by someone who really works for the forum has got a lot of things to learn.

Making quality posts has stood in the way of many,in earning merits for quite a long time being on the forum,and the issue remains their posts lack the quality and content to be called a quality one and hence to be rewarded with merits
And just as OP has rightly pointed out basic factors that makes a good posts,more work on each of the points and definitely one would be earning merits frequently.
Quality posts are simply posts with useful and worthy contents

A "quality" post is oftentimes a subjective description. One man's trash could be a treasure to another. Pertaining to the Bitcointalk forum, your post would be deemed "quality" if it conforms to the groupthink of the merit-rich.

If you want to avoid politics, there are ways to provide unquestionable "quality" posts such as a service, analysis or new important information.

Being good in English is not really a requirement for a quality post. Users with poor english can simply stick to their local board and contribute. I believe there are many forum users who do not write well in English but are knowledgeable in blockhain and crypto-related topics.

This is really useful for all members and covered all area about quality post. But recently I saw many new members created new thread and discussing about topic which is already exits in the forum. So I think OP could add that point too in the quality post

Think before posting

Before making a new thread use search option to find out if the topic already exits in the form or not? If it's already exists then you can contribute their besides creating a new thread. And if you think your idea is unique or something special then you can create new thread. But on the same topic so many threads not necessarily.

Impact is one character of a quality post. A post that can not impact on the reader in any manner wisely can not be referred to as a quality post. A quality post can be minute but still contain very useful knowledge in it

This post is really so informative for me. There is a lot of explanation and many examples here to understand actually what is a quality post and I find myself that I am benefitted from this post. If anyone reading this post they can primary get an idea of what is exactly create a post by clear vision.

They should be as I know that there are still newbies still doesn't know anything what  quality post means or how should we know that the post is quality post or not. The information op provided is correct. Why does the quality post can be a help to all of us?
1.) Useful topic can be helpful and useful in future topics that is related to the topic been discussed before.

2.) Constructive reply will be easy to understand as it is constructed nicely or correctly using only the most or crucial informations about the topic being discussed.

3. Infographics topic can be very helpful to all of us if the topic can't be explain using sentences or words easily or you can't understand it right away so with the help of infographics the topic can be fully explained the situation or the topic without making or constructing long sentences or even paragraphs.
So creating or having posted quality post is really important to all of us and we could also benefit from it.
