So, this Saturday I'm supposed to go to a "cryptorave", run by the "Omsk social club".
https://www.facebook.com/omsksocialclub/

I don't expect anything extreme since it's organized in the larger framework of a mainstream event addressed (also) to muggles, but still one has to mine his/her way to the party (through monero), and embody a predetermined persona rpg-style.

Has anybody been to any of these guys' parties already? What I mainly wonder about at the moment is how seriously I should take the rpg part. I'm all for it but I wouldn't like to be the only one taking it seriously in the room :p

Other than that it's a decent idea and the rpg looks like an excuse for going through some good crypto bibliography that you get along with your ticket.

Lol, interesting. If you don't mind, post your thoughts/results afterwards. I'm curious to hear about a "crypto rave".  GrinBTC

It was a decent party that you wouldn't tell apart from other ones once you've mined your ticket and entered for free.

The rpg part (or rather rgp as the organizers call it - role game play) was indeed not implemented by anyone. But as i wrote in the previous it was a nice excuse for the organizers to encourage you to go through a good reading list. An example of an article that i liked: https://www.e-flux.com/journal/76/69732/if-you-don-t-have-bread-eat-art-contemporary-art-and-derivative-fascisms/

It seems that people try to go somewhere solid with networks like this one, let's see.

Awesome, thanks for posting an update.
I think the idea of having to dedicate GPU power and literally support the monero network to get a ticket to the event is pretty neat, props to who ever came up with that lol.

I'm going to have to keep an eye out for events like this in the future, i think that'd be an interesting experience. It's exciting to see how crypto may interact into other activities.
