Another exhibition match is on the way this coming July for Floyd Mayweather. The opponent remains un-named as of this moment and all they know for now is he is a "former Japanese boxer", fight will be held in Japan and it will be in July this year and he will be paid $10 Million USD for this match. According to the news posted by TMZ, Floyd still have 4-5 matches this year and all matches combined can earn him $80 Million USD.

He just wanted to be relevant I guess. He says he quit and retired, but it's hard to leave boxing itself because that what made him famous. And since Pacquaio has back to back wins, he still wants people to talk about him and be in the conversation. I don't think his broke, he just simply wanted to stay in the limelight so to speak.

Another money making campaign of Mayweather, he knows after the fight with McGregor fans will be engaged with him, not sure if what's the real intention why he made this deal even there's a lots of expectations between him and Pacquiao, chances that heor the promoters are still not convinced that the rematch between the two will gather lots of money inside the boxing arena.

Chances that they want to reached more interest so they need to create more news about Mayweather's Future plans and engagement.

You may right mate, it was all about monetary, business and marketing strategy. Floyd Mayweather is more of a businessman than a boxer. Ain't know why as far as I know his CEO has declined the Pacquiao match and they said, Floyd Mayweather has no interest on a boxing career. My guess is only using his assets in the right way. As long as he would still be able to use it he needs to use it to earn more profits. That's how you do it in life. Floyd Mayweather is giving entertainment and that's his business.

All of mayweather's recent fights are simply for the money. I mean, we all know he's going to win regardless of whoever that mystery boxer is because that's what he does, win fights. But it's becoming more like a circus really.

Probably mayweathet will just run again and make a fun fight. It's very obvious that he wants only money, he is not a pro in this league, just literally a joker who wants kaching. Even in the battle with pacquiao, there's a money involved and mafia there.

Well, I watched his youtube video and he didn't mention the name of the Japanese boxer, what he said his the boxer is former Japanese boxer and I believe he haven't know his name either. Like he said, he's not ready to talk about fight and it all about been smart. Therefore, we cant be sure if Naoya Inouec was indeed the boxer he's going to fight this year.

Yep, just like what they said, it is just an exhibition match just like his last fight on during it's a three rounds match. There is no worthy fighter for Mayweather in Japan atm or maybe he is choosing his opponent carefully then this just proves that he is just doing it for money and nothing else. He said, on his interview that the fight would be great because he wouldn't risk his health and he would earn a $10m for an exhibition fight.

He might not mentioned the names, but if its on another Japanese fighter, and as I have said in previous threads, Japanese boxers didn't compete in a high weight class, never seen them competing in the weight class where Mayweather at, so this is really not something boxing fans wanted to see to in July, another glorified sparring session. Anyhow, it's evident that he is afraid to fight Manny Pacquiao so there's nothing we can do and let the fans judge his reputation as he is becoming more of a joke fighter really.

I thought this is only a single match but it do clears out that this would be 4-5 matches that will able for him to earn $80M usd. Not bad actually if those boxers arent just good enough or typically an exhibition match.
As a boxer you wont really able to refuse such offer. Imagine earning $10M on a very simple bout wont really put you in any hesitations not to agree.
4-5 Boxers faces will surely sleep,climb,face down on the canvass this year. lol

Floyd had an exhibition boxing match with japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in december of 2018. You can find clips of it on youtube. I think Floyd accepts these fights due to the lower level of boxing in japan and them being relatively easy money.

There's a lot of money currently being thrown at Rizin MMA in japan. I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd's next opponent was either from Rizin or one of the asian kickboxing promotions. Floyd's a massive pay per view draw and celebrity worldwide, having him fight in japan must be huge from a promotional perspective. They could conceivably pay Floyd $10+ million per fight against subpar competition and easily make their money back from Floyd's massive draw power and brand recognition.

I can't claim to know specifics or details of their business dealings but afaik Conor McGregor is guaranteed $10 million per fight in the UFC as stated by Lorenzo Fertitta. Would tend to think Floyd is doing better than that in japan.

Not 'eventually' but 100% guaranteed that he will win the fight, hehehe. It's now obvious, that Floyd despite making tons of money, is very greedy and will choose an easy fight. Is people still talking about his boxing reputation? No doubt that he has ruin it already specially if he goes for another easy exhibition or circus or whatever people are going to call it in July. hahaha.
