Did you noticed that you were received some greedy offer by email? Although you didn't subscribe to them. Did you think how they are getting your details ? Even sometimes you had received greedy offer on your mobile phone. Did you think how they are getting your every details ?

Almost people's are using smart phone. So hackers hack our everything very smart way also. Smart phone and emails mostly used by hacker for collect your all details.

If you install any new software on smart phone then we can see some questions. For example, "do you like to allow X application to use your camera/contacts, etc? " but we never bother to read it. We just simply click "allow". By this way hackers are able to know everything what are you doing or typing. Even they are able to use your camera but you will not aware about that. They can steal your password, private key etc.

So before click "allow" please read it carefully. Don't install any software from unknown source if you don't know about it.

Sometimes you can see some free greedy offer on few website or Google ad. They will ask email, mobile,  address etc. So don't provide them your personal details. They can hack you by emails also. May be they will send a link to click. After click computer or phone will be on their control.

You will be surprise, even real life people's are trading personal details like emails, mobile no., and address. How they collect it from us ? For example, you are shopping on big shopping centre. Sometimes you can see coupon offer , so you have to fill coupons for lottery draw. Do you know they are selling it on third party ? That's why you are receiving spam greedy offer from varieties company/website.

That's the way how hacker always try to hack us. Even you can see people's are selling email data like 50K , 100K. Do you think how they collect it ? That's the way I describe above.

So we need to handle carefully our personal data. We are giving them our all details unconsciously. Scammers and hackers are more smart from us.

So stay safe, don't share your personal data on untrusted sources.

This is one of the most important habits everyone should have online. Especially people involved with cryptocurrencies.

I always check the site certificate, and if I have any doubts I try to check in Reddit/medium etc for confirmations about what is the official website of the program I want to download.

Often not unconsciously but consciously. I mean its common that someone think its only app on market and he MUST allow to use it. Problem is its really the case sometimes. Most of the time tho you can download alternative app that will not force you to give access to your personal data.
Choose wisely because privacy so lowly valued in modern times is valuable in real world.

People tend to trust the source of the app. If for example it's from play store they believe it's legitimate for it to pass their audits. Permissions granted to sites does not constitutes a big risk in my opinion, buy we need to read through before allowing and rejecting any permission requesting really direct access.

If you install any new software on smart phone then we can see some questions. For example, "do you like to allow X application to use your camera/contacts, etc? " but we never bother to read it. We just simply click "allow".
Most people would be shocked by which apps are accessing various things on their smartphone.

Big apps like Facebook, Whatsapp and YouTube try to access everything - camera, microphone, location, contacts, SMS and phone history, etc. You might be surprised at some of your other apps though. Most crypto apps will want access to your camera for scanning QR codes, but how do you know they aren't using the camera for anything else? Many exchange apps want to track your location. Many browsers want access to your microphone. These apps will do anything to try to spy on you. It's worth pointing out that you can quite safely disable all these permissions if you aren't using the function behind them. For example, although Firefox wants access to your camera, microphone and location, if you aren't using it to upload your voice to a website or use Google maps or similar, it will work just fine if you disable all these things.

This page has instructions on how to access app permissions on various platforms: https://www.wired.com/story/how-to-check-app-permissions-ios-android-macos-windows/. I would suggest taking a look at what apps you have which are monitoring your activity, and either removing their permissions or switching to a less invasive app altogether. It's also worth turning off automatic updates - that way if an update tries to give an app more permissions, you have to manually confirm (or deny) it first.

I don't think how hackers get any info just in that way. I think they can get our email because can see it on bounty spreadsheet.

Then stop giving your email and other personal details out to an anonymous bounty manager in return for the future promise (maybe, if they actually pay you) of a token (maybe, if it even exists) which probably won't even be listed on an exchange and will almost certainly be worthless.

If you are absolutely dead set on making your friends and family hate you by spamming your nonsense all over social media, at least use an email dedicated for bounty campaigns and nothing else.

I haven't come across any spreadsheet that displays it's hunters email, they always treat emails delicately which should be so, if there are such bounties, then it's crazy to be on them.
Emails are private and as such should be treated that way and thats what most bounty managers I've come across do

A lot of people forget to protect their phones on the internet. While they secure their computers and behave reasonably, they often forget all about that with their phones. One of my buddies recently lost all the crypto he held on his phone because his phone was not the most secure device out there (fortunately he didn't hold much crypto on his phone). Since that day I have been looking for a phone that has adequate security features. I recently came across https://bitwings.org and their Wings WX phone. These phones integrate neural technology and are specially created for crypto people. It has incredible security features, making it impossible for anyone get into your phone, not even BitWings itself. It also connects with mining pools to generate up to 2 ETH per month. So I definitely suggest everyone to check it out.

I don't think its possible without getting ahold of the phone so you must've have let him borrow it, maybe you should start with not letting anyone get ahold of it as much as possible. You should also set a screenlock and app password and make sure you're the only one who knows it.

For now, back up everything that needs to be backup and then reset your phone to factory settings. Op and other users listed some tips, do follow that too.

what kind of data? why don't you ask him then? if it's a private data then you should ask him to delete it. there's no other way, ask him to delete it or if he don't want to then trash his laptop, even though i doubt he won't agree to delete it if he's hiding something. you have to make sure he don't store any backup too if it's needed. and next time be careful of your friends, don't allow them to access your private data / borrow your phone or other devices if it stores a lot of your private data.

It has incredible security features, making it impossible for anyone get into your phone, not even BitWings itself. It also connects with mining pools to generate up to 2 ETH per month. So I definitely suggest everyone to check it out.

2 eth per month? that sounds weird. but there's no need for extra features if you want to protect your self, just have some basic awareness about security, always use 2fa if possible, use strong password, remove apps access if it's not needed and so on.

Not only that, we give our personal information to the company that manufactures our phones, Google, Facebook and other sites that we trust by default.

If people stop giving their real information in the social media and close all the devices "cover the camera with a tape" they will be safe.

In short do not trust anyone.

Not all bounty managers care about users privacy.
Some of them start fake campaigns or airdrops just to collect emails or even worst, they may ask participants to pass KYC.

Lots. Stuff that can take you years to recover from. They can open credit cards or loans in your name, and put you thousands of dollars in to debt. Your credit rating will be shot, which means everything from getting a mortgage or car right through to a mobile phone contract will be difficult or impossible. They can use your details to escape crimes, and falsely charge them to your name instead. It can take years and thousands of dollars to clear your name, and all the time you will have a criminal record. They can use your details to help them avoid tax by charging it in your name instead of theirs, or by applying for a tax rebate in your name, again landing you in lots of debt that is very difficult to clear.

The fact that people are quite willing to risk all this for the promise of some worthless token is utterly mind boggling to me.

Exactly, many members aren't aware of that, they think all they can lose is some shitcoins. They are not aware that they can be jailed for something they didn't do just because someone else used their personal information.

Oof, I don't think that's fair 'cause it's only a medium. If someone uses it too much, that's on them for not being able to control themselves. Technology isn't white nor black but gray, it's what you make of it, how you use it.

And they didn't forget as its more of not knowing or considering the possibility, most ppl are lax imo.

There are so many app download which ask for access personal information, it is hard to avoid now. For example the Google app is everywhere; they even have all the data what you are searching. We think we are anonymous in the internet, but the big software company can get all our information. We definitely need to carefully download app, some scammer use app to hack our PC or phone for personal data.

For example in google play store they have feature like play protect which is to protect the third party apps from stealing our personal information but not sure how much they were trusted to be.
