A few months ago Steam it laid off 70% of their employees as the company is struggling to meet their financial goals. We all know its dead. Is there any better alternative? And do you think such alternatives can survive?

As long as I know steemit pay their employees with fiat, means that in the bearish market steemit may struggle to pay their employees. I don't think steemit is dead yet, they can change their payment structure.
And about the alternative, im not really sure but Mithril is the closest one to steemit.

Which one of the other alternatives you think are strong ones? I guess Akasha is also dead for a long time. Same goes with saipen.

Well paying them in Steem won't solve the issue. Thing is people have sort of lost interest in blockchain. I mean why would any creator comes here if he is already making thousands of dollars on Youtube for example.

Steemit was supposed to be a blog platform where people would be rewarded in steemit coins by peers for their blog posts. In theory there was no reason for it to not work and it was even expected to take on Medium, Wordpress as a new blockchain based alternative. I guess the performance of its coin may be leading to its demise but it might pick up again if coin prices change, so I wouldn't say it's over yet.

I am sure steemit can recover , the main reason why steemit is in trouble now is because it was built on blockchain technology and we all know the situation of the market right now, so as long as we are still in a bearish market stage steemit it would still continue to have problem but since the market situation has been increasing for a while now.... i can say steemit can definitely recover because mideum is not a very nice option

Steam it was a good project and their steam coin was really doing well in the market before the bear market set in on us. The effect of the bearish market hit other projects too and everyone is doing all they can to survive. I do not believe that steam it will die. The project will survive and bounce back. Maybe Reddit may likely be alternative.

Steem was dead the day they claimed to be creating a decentralized platform but they ended up creating a centralized one and then added their token on top of it then the final blow was when they started giving away a lot of money so that people could spam on their platform with low quality stuff.
there can not be an alternative to a broken design like this.

True i even noticed a guy that was posting like 10-20 copy/paste memes from internet and had like 10$ of steemit upvotes for each post in 2017-2018 . Currently each post is worth like few cents , but anyway not sure if steemit is dead , im still reading it day by day . Maybe there is not alot of activity like it was before because of the steemit price . If they will change payment structure or something then probably will get better .

New information`s about steemit I didn`t know about. I have account there but I`m not so active. I didn`t find something that will attract my attention. Twitter is much better place. It will be hard for any decentralized social platform to make something while Twitter and Facebook are around. Or I`m wrong?

Steemit was overly influenced by the ongoing decline in the market. And the Steemit went down to a fairly large shrinkage. But I still believe that Steemit can recover. Especially after the market starts to rise, Steemit will start to grow again. That's why I don't suggest an alternative to Steemit because I still think that Steemit will not die.

I don't know what kind of alternatives your looking for, all i can think off is Medium, besides that i don't know any websites that is like steemit. having them removing 70% of the employees doesn't mean the website is dead.

There are some alternatives just like medium but this doesn't pay the content creator. There is another platform like akasha but i don't know if that was still working or not. Just remember there are some similar platforms like steemit that called minds,LBRY, zappl but i never get the latest update about them all.

The dismissal was a necessity, and although the situation apparently is not really pleasant, there are no substitutions for Steam yet!

Lol, sounds abit funny But steemit is a blog platform and if you think people do not earn from steemit You are mistaken If bitcoin could come down to 3400$ from 20,000$ How can you blame the bearish price in steemit ??

I don't know that you have ever heard about "murmur". Actually it looks like Twitter. But it is also related with Steemit. It is connected with EOS blockchain and not Ethereum like Steemit.

So much FUD on Steemit but they are still paying in fiat the users so there are still great opportunities in the platform. You have some true in your words with the fact that the bearish market is so strong in the steemit chart but if you look closer bear market is still present everywhere on crypto and this green days should not make you to excited.
