Listing an Exchange on Coinmarketcap

Competition to get listed is fierce, not just for coins but for exchanges as well. There needs to be a high trading volume, used to be 50K per day but that has probably changed now. Most will use a trading bot so having just 50K volume is not enough

I have faced the same issue, trading volume is not so significant since there are many exchanges on CMC with zero trading volume. Also, there are many exchanges on CMC with 2 or 3 trading pairs only. I can't understand why this happens and why they don't list new exchanges. I think it's the oligopoly. We are involved in crypto industry in order to avoid such practices from banks, etc and now we face thw same issue from CMC. Just not fair.

So I've been trying to list an exchange in CMC. They actually manage the whole thing almost like a state secret.
The selection criteria is not clearly stated and they do not give any feedback on why the exchange was or wasn't accepted.
Of course it's important to have the basics like a fully functional product, clear rates and fees, customer support, and other customer client channels like a Telegram helpdesk group, Twitter for public announcements, etc.
But does anyone know which are the critical factors?
Or have some advice on how to get it approved?

Trading volume is the most important factor. This factor is also very important when you would like to list a coin on coinmarketcap.
Dead coins, exchanges will not be listed here  .

i think the reason why they dont list new exchange is because they are still new yet  . an exchange needs to gain reputation first on the public so that cmc will finally list them  .

are you an owner of an exchange ? and you want to be listed on cmc ? maybe the cmc team needs to review your exchange if your exchange do already have some improvements before they totally accept you  . same goes to the 30 that have proposed .

you know guys , cmc is pretty strict and they just dont allow any exchange to get listed on thier platform without followiing thier requirement .

I think you don't have the ability to satisfy the criteria of the CMC, while other exchanges with no volume have already listed CMC. Maybe there is something that you need to satisfy them otherwise, it is impossible for you to get listed in CMC.

IMHO they are looking on trading volumes and rare tokens that you trade. As I remember coin will add on CMC after 50000 USD day trading volume.

They removed the exchange volume requirement a while back.

Coingecko is far better than cmc tbh, they have excellent customer support which I adore the most about them.

Indeed coingecko in terms of platform appearance is more interesting and has many functions compared to cmc which still uses classy design. but still mostly crypto users when typing bitcoin prices CMC always become the top 5 on google search. as well as other coins listed on the exchange mostly refer to the cmc website.

I tried listing a coin there a few months back, it was a nightmare, they also gave our name to another coin's url (by mistake ,they had a totally different name) . The only thing that helped back then is take screenshots of all their mistakes including correspondance and posting it into an article that got picked and had like 20k views. Only then all the problems magically disappeared and the coin got listed.

Now I'm taking an interest in a new exchange called mintME.com that acts as a crowdfunding platform and it's in my best interest to get it added there but I know how shittty CMC's customer service is so I'm not holding my breath.

It's good that they have implemented this so pump and dump coins cannot get in easily, in the past, there are a lot of scam coins that have got in easily, that is the reason some of them are zero volume on Coinmarketcap, now that they are strict we can only sure that only the best coin can only get in their list, $50000 is such a huge amount and only legit coins can get that volume.

Please check their site and read the terms before you apply for listing.

News about coinmarketcap is still a confusing news, there is no clarity from this platform, some say cmc is a scam for manipulating coins so that they can play around the market because traders rely on this platform.

I totaly agree. There are a big unfair competition in CMC. Many projects destroyed and lost big money becousese of this. We are talking with our lawyers this period as we are going to issue the CMC for this unfair competition.

What Real Team?? The Guys are Real Scammers. Our Squirrex exchange is a state of art for ERC20 and TRC10 tokens as well as ETH and BTC.

After many e-mails they ask to complete a big form with the new meets to list our exchange. Our developer Team spend more that 100 hours to complete all the CMC meets to list the exchange. After that, they send an email that sais.....thank you but we are not sure if we decide to list your exchange and that their developer team (that never send an information or email or just a simple YES or NOT) will check again my request. This is unfair competition for an exchange that pay salaries, servers, security etc....after almost a Year of trying to list our exchange our company has more than 500,000 damage because of CMC. Our Legal department will issue the CMC for this unfair competition.

Are you serious?  This is the rights of the owner of CMC if they dont like to list your exchange IMO. And not only you having a problem listing in them there are many other exchange also .
There must be a reason for it or your exchange is not yet qualified to list.

I been on your position too with the project i work with. The critical factor is you need to listed on at least 2 exchange that already listed on CMC and both must have some volume.
I my case, our dev submit the application while only listed on 1 CMC listed exchange, then get reject. But after we listed on second CMC listed exchange, our project just getting listed on CMC

When it comes to criterias on being listed then ill say that coingecko would be a better choice and i agree on what most majority do look about CMC.

They do always look up if its listed on CMC or not and these had been always the line specially for buyers for some coins where they do ensure out if its
listed because we can see on where markets its being traded on.We cant point on what would happen on next 2 years for CMC to look like.

Project listed on coinmarketcap also show timing in the low level we cannot touch sure whether it has been listed on coingecko or coinmarketcap.
most of the listing site requires good community which is interactive to the team.
Dar es team with them they are good enough to get listed on any listing sites.
