so, I talked to Max Keiser briefly at the bitcoin conference in Prague (the conference was great).

I think it's now finally public info: piratemyfilm will be accepting BTC for payment of shares and they will start to pay dividends in Bitcoin, too.

I think this is great news.

The gust of my conversation with Max is that it is not possible to enable my account to reserve more than 5 shares. The background for this is that he wants to avoid few people to buy all of the shares.

I'm unsure what to do know, but suggest we wait for the "bitpay" buttons to actually appear on piratemyfilm.com. Currently I think the best route would now be to give you people back your bitcoins so you can buy shares of the project yourselves on piratemyfilm.com.

Stacey Herbert and Richard Bluestein where filming material for the project in Prague (at the conference and at the pub(s)). They interviewed Amir, for example, and of course filmed the panel discussiond and Max' talk about himself and PMF.

It seems Max is now officially a bitcoin supporter (see his recent tweets).

Thoughts?

Didn't see this til now.  Wow piratemyfilm is taking bitcoins.. that's awesome.  Bump for more people to see this!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Unfortunately not yet. It'll probably take a month.

The "payback" dividend of 1 BTC has been made on 04/12/2011-21:29 as said in my last post.

I see people are trading MAXKEISER.bitcoinfilm for 0.75 BTC.

To whoever is buying: you are buying a worthless issue. There will be no more dividend payments.

woops. I didn't require proof from you. But I think I remember you said here you would send litecoins and the 2K LTC popped up. So I just sent the BTC to the supplied address.

Ok, last chance to reclaim your donations!

All unclaimed donations will be given to the bitcoin faucet Monday evening (GMT), unless donator requested otherwise.

Here is my post that explains how to claim:

there's a new project listed on piratemyfilm

http://www.piratemyfilm.com/projects/304 : Screw Banks, Use Bitcoins

Max and Stacey introduced it in their newsletter on Jan 31st:

Quote from: Stacy Herbert
PirateMyfilm is one of these competitors hoping to hasten the demise of an increasingly hostile IP regime. No doubt Disney will soon issue a takedown notice claiming they own the rights to 'piracy' reserved for content specific to Johnny Depp in the Caribbean. As the internet is still free, however, I've just reserved shares in Screw Banks, Use Bitcoins because I'm very interested to see what Tony from Bitpay.com comes up with. I saw his presentation in Prague a few months ago and he actually got me set up with a tiny little bitcoin account. It was through his simple explanation and by the actual use of the bitcoins that I finally understood how simple and efficient it is to operate without the middleman getting in the way. In my mind, bitcoin is a great disintermediation play for online transactions. Hopefully, it will succeed. If not, that is how the free market works (currently available only online). You live or die by the quality of your service or product. Imagine that?

Lets hope piratemyfilm has a Bitcoin payment option soon.

Read 2 posts above about what happened to "Bitcoin Prague". It was merged with another topic.

I haven't talked to them since Prague. The owner of the project is bit-pay. Bit-Pay is in contact with them, so maybe https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=31293 (user Bit-Pay Merchant Solutions) knows more. That's Tony Galippi of bit-pay. He's really nice. Should you ask him about it, be sure to post relevant info here.

I'm excited about these films, just don't currently have the time/energy to find out more.

Its in the works.  Max's team is about 2 months behind.  They (just tihs week) finally started integrating Bit-Pay on the PMF website.  After that he is working on the dividend program.  The film is in the works, they are just way behind on everything.

In case you haven't seen the thread, piratemyfilm.com now accepts bitcoin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64802

Thanks Tony!

The Project mentioned in the thread (http://www.piratemyfilm.com/projects/304, Screw Banks - Use Bitcoin) seems to be funded already. It still makes sense to reserve shares, I guess, should people chicken out.
