Everywhere you look, concerns are mounting about internet privacy.

Although giving up your data was once an afterthought when gaining access to the newest internet services such as Facebook and Uber, as Visual Capitalist's Jeff Desjardins notes, many people have had their perspective altered by various recent scandals, billions of dollars of cybertheft, and a growing discomfort around how their personal data may be used in the future.

More people want to opt out of this data collection, but aside from disconnecting entirely or taking ludicrous measures to safeguard information, there aren’t many great options available to limit what is seen and known about you online.

THE NEXT BEST THING
It may not be realistic to use Tor for all online browsing, so why not instead look at taking more practical steps to reducing your internet footprint?

Infographic comes to us from CashNetUSA, and it gives a step-by-step guide – that anyone can follow – to limit the amount of personal data that gets collected on the internet.

As you can see, you can take simple steps to limit the amount of personal information you give up online.

To be absolutely clear, these actions will not reduce your footprint to nothing – but they will make many important categories of data invisible for all intents and purposes.

BASIC BUILDING BLOCKS
The simple actions that can be taken fall into three major realms: internet browsers, social networks, and mobile phones.

1. Internet Browsers:
Whether you are using Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer, there are easy things you can do to increase privacy. These include using private browsing, blocking third-party cookies, and tailoring the permissions for websites that you access.

2. Social Media Platforms
Major social networks have options built-in for users seeking privacy – it’s just many people don’t know they are there. On Facebook, for example, you can prevent your name being linked to ads – and on Twitter, you can prevent Twitter from tracking you.

3. Mobile Phones
We live more and more on our smartphones, but thankfully there are options here as well. You can block ad tracking on Safari, or opt out of ad personalization on Android. There is even a simple setting on Android that allows you to encrypt your phone.

VPN isnt enough to keep someone anonymous nor is this guide, because with a VPN someone can still track you through cookies and find personal details, then there is computer details being left behind that even a VM wont hide.

Theres better way....

VPN, proxy, SSH only change our IP address, make the tracker not know where we are. But not all of them are anonymous, even some are transparent, that is, our IP changes, but the tracker can see our real IP.

Combining the above methods might be a good effort

Wow this is nice thanks for reposting this procedure. Lots of people are trying yo be invisible online but hard to hide it without any leak info but with this we can totally anonymous and nothing to worry about. By the way, what forum did the guy posted this? His probably good in terms of working like a ghost knowing this stuff. I always thought that nothing can hide on the web but with this instructions you've posted its possible now.

And one of the worse identity theft is done through this KYC people are giving it freely for a few cents worth of tokens, not knowing that they will haunt them for the rest of their lives glad that all the campaign does not ask for KYC.

It's a complete guide. Thanks to the friend who shared. A guide that we can always use and need.

This will be very useful if decentralized exchanges and transactions are supported on the network.

I do not agree with you, the only way how to be 100% anonymous is only by using TOR browser when you surf on the internet. Nothing else.
Buy crypto only with cash. Cash is the best anonymous money, more anonymous than Monero. Smiley

I haven't checked whether the mentioned ways were possible to keep us anonymous. I believe at least few will give good result of going anonymous. The market keeps on tracking us Making us consumer to different products that isn't necessary for us. Anyhow what OP has taken is a good effort to create such a detailed information which is necessary to the growing community which wish to be anonymous.

What a nice article, i think in this type of time when my government are clamping on people who make use of bitcoin, it is better to be anonymous in order not to get arrested by them.

I even heard news that in some country, people are being searched in airport to see if they own bitcoin and seizing it before allowing them to fly. I always make sure I make use of vps when visiting my wallets and i don't use any mobile wallet.

That's a legendary pot to be honest, most people don't know 90% of what mentioned in this post.
Some people think that only using a VPN then you're a " ghost " lol, the fact that privacy is more & more deprived using our social media accounts, one should make these edits in his accounts to make sure he's safe / private enough

Good post man.

I am really impressed with this post it's a very informative though, being anonymous on the internet is a good intention but as what they have seen cyber crimes are increases that's probably the reason of implementing KYC and also KYC can provide to people safeguard to avoid of being scam. But both sides have pros and cons we could not compare these two options.

Very interesting. But I think this will not be enough. Because there are Internet providers who pass our traffic through themselves and get all the information.

If a person will use all this, the hacker will need a little more time to learn personal data

I honestly also feel uncomfortable if I have to give myself but the problem is that there are many projects and exchangers that require all participants or users to upload their data so sometimes I give my data because that's the only way I have to do it
