I think this is interesting, as many people keep saying ripple is a centralized shitcoin,etc, while it is not a shitcoin. On the other hand, it shows how Vitalik is not anymore that guy who would like to decentralize everything.

Vitalik is just being sarcastic. He's pointing out that Rochard's logic is circular and useless (and he's right about that). Any asset measured with itself will appear to hold its value. That applies to beanie babies and XRP just as it does to Bitcoin. Whether an asset actually does hold its value (and is therefore "sound money") is a separate matter entirely.

I agree with you, and I do not think that Vitalik Buterin really means that Ripple is better than Bitcoin. Ethereum and Ripple are two different worlds, and they almost do not have any corelation, except that these coins are in top 3 of the coin market cap.

Please understand the sarcasm! Vitalik is not saying XRP is better than bitcoin. XRP is still a centralized shitcoin I would say! They are really not a competitor of bitcoin or ETH in any way!

His statement did not spell out that ripple is better than bitcoin. All the altcoins and their concept are all contributing to the growth of the entire ecosystem so non of them is indispensable. Bitcoin cannot be compare to any of them, Bitcoin remains the king.

He wasn't praising XRP, anyone that reads this and thinks it validates the way Ripple works is either a shill for XRP or have no idea what sarcasm is. Dude is literally ripping XRP a new one about their "partnerships" and "adoptions" with how they work companies instead of focusing on being a b2c.

XRP only survives when they have contracts with banks and financial companies around the world that uses their blockchain to send and receive money for cheaper. It is not a coin, it is a way to move money and that's it.

He was just saying if that is what you are looking for in a coin than you might as well go with Ripple because that is all they do and that is all they are good for. In order to think that praises XRP in anyway or shape you would have to be proud of being "money moving system" instead of being a crypto currency.
