You are looking at it from the wrong perspective. They sell because they want to encash that money in fiat. People need to do that to make up the losses they had or to pay back those who they took loans for. There are people who are in debts for trading and trying to make ends meet by such methods. Whales are also often running out of liquid cash and need to resort to such measures, specially the individual whales - but again they do on a large scale and its mostly a white-collar system.

These movements are basic in any speculative market without which trading would become stagnant.

Whales do really know on what they are doing which a typical move for them on accumulating coins when there are bloods on the streets came from sudden panic selling on the entire market.

The good thing is that you do not need to be a whale to take advantage of their tactics, obviously if I had a lot of money the profits that I could generate in a few years will be great but even if that is not the case buying now and holding your bitcoin and other worthy coins is not a bad deal, the only thing you need to do is to buy them and then hold for a few years and then you can enjoy fantastic profits, that seems like a good deal to me especially if we consider that there is almost no effort involved.

Look mate, you can never predict where the whales are going to dump or pump. You have to follow the trend that gets set and not set a trend yourself. It would be foolish to set a trend yourself because you would burn out of cash. Even whales do that in coordinated waves and not one at a time. What you can do is follow your exchange assuming it has decent market volume and liquidity and then continue to buy when its dipping.

Do not panic about when to sell or buy because that time will come and it will come at a time you wont expect it to come. You can hope to become rich in a day here. Its takes months and years to be an expert.

Top 100 whales have accumulated 151,405 BTC since Dec 17th. 2018. Smaller holders (those who have 100-1000 BTC) seem to have given a large amount of BTC to the larger wallets.

Now I don't know if this is due to people selling on exchanges, or simply leaving their money on exchanges. Though it does seem like it's pretty big news (if true) and whales are simply accumulating during this down time.

I'd like to see what people think about this!
