What do you guys think of a community where you would be tipped in Bitcoin for curating content? Something like the Bitcointalk forum, but that tips you to be an active and contributing member.

I created this thing called Dreddit. Like reddit, but more crypto and more cool 😜

Here, anyone can share their ideas about cryptocurrencies. Users can upvote/downvote a particular piece of content.

You get merit points when someone likes your post enough to give you some. And for every 2 merit points you receive, you can send 1 merit point to someone else!

Honestly there is already a site like that. www.stake.com will pay you per post in satoshi (mBTC) for quality posts. I think it's a great idea. BAT (basic attention token) actually has a browser that uses it's crypto to tip people that have good content as well.

I guess you got the idea after the announcement from twitter that you can tip tweets that you want to. Your idea is good but the name is obviously gotten from reddit and the interface itself.

There's also a way to tip people here in the forum by just looking at the bitcoin address that they have and you can tip them manually.

I think you're late for this kind of attempt. Crypto content, such as Steemit, Stake, Murmur appeared in many applications. However, I respect your opinion and I will try and be a member as soon as possible.

Isn't that limited to only Bitcointalk forum? Or in other words, sig campaign?

r/bitcoin already has a lightning network tipping bot lmao

Twitter too.

OP has a good idea but there is also a lot of implementation already exist, for example something like publish0x (not paying with BTC though) or Steemit. The competition is real.

Where is Stake regulated? How safe is it to play with any tokens? Which ones do you suggest if there is a preference? Need some convincing...

you can check their site directly or see reviews on this forum. it seems that the owner is generally trusted, but of course some users don't like them and think they're not fair. so do your own DD.

The idea looks pretty much like steem. It already exists for about 2+ years.
Their website was reworked since the last time I've seen it but the general point is that people are making blog posts, comments etc. and getting crypto if the other users upvote them.

Almost same concept. Publishing good content is good of course this includes the marketing of whatever you are writing but don't put your hopes to much on getting tips, there are occasions people will send but probably less than 1% chance.  Unless you can do more good for certain individuals or groups, like if you support a certain political party and you expose bad sides.

imho all those rewards from blog posting is not worth the time wasted on writing this stuff. ~200$ rewards on the main page seem attractive  but it is pretty hard to get such audience from the very beginning.
If an advertised Steem is working only for small amount of users then I don't think that any other "crypto reddit" will become somehow popular.

This is quite good idea to spread all information about cryptocurrencies. Doing this kind of activity will enlighten all people who do not know what cryptocurrencies and because of this many people will tend to invest and buy cryptocurrencies.

Let me understand few things about tipping on how the system works. Do you have an algorithm in place that decides the tipping amount based on the upvotes received? Or is it similar to the merit system that we have in bitcointalk forum where anyone can tip anybody for creating good contents?

If there us an algorithm in place for tipping, there will be hope for your project. But if it is like the merit system, I don't see much hope. Sorry if I am sounding negative for a moment, but peer to peer tipping is not a viable business in today's ecosystem.

no! and the short answer is "steemit".

it is simply because this types of incentivizing people to come to some new platform is going to ONLY attract spammers who will lower the quality of the platform itself and eventually nobody even bothers visiting that place anymore. look at steemit for example. the initial days people were excited because it "looked good" but eventually as it was filled with spammers every single link that comes from that site is currently considered bullshit and is ignored by most of the internet.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Stake is actually not a pay per post forum(meaning its purpose isnt to be that). Its just a forum where people can talk about Stake Casino and the fact that they get paid is something aditional. I dont think someone should go to Stake forum to just make posts in order to get satoshi.

well that would not be bad rewarding tip to create  articles regarding bitcoin because it could contribute to get more bitcoiners that will possibly make an acctive marker in the near future. Usually some.are only doing there research then of they can find out how good to.join in bitcoin then that woulf benefit us all. The question is that who wi going  to give the tip?

I prefer to stay at Steemit because I think it's larger than Dreddit, but Dreddit has a chance to become larger too. Well, it's another source of income which we can use to earn bitcoin, litecoin, ethereum and bitcoin cash for free.

I got this from their website:
Quote
This encourages users to focus on creating content that other users would tip for and would likely come on the top. Posts that receive tips don't necessarily reach to the front page, and this helps keep the quality of content on the platform.

So I think users need to create interesting content to attract other users to give tips because the other users do not always give tips to the creator. I think it's like playing on the faucet because the reward is almost the same as faucet rewards, but it is good to start.

It is unlikely to be bitcoin that is used for tipping, too slow and too valuable. Dogecoin is widely recognised as the fun tipper coin so this is where an alt is more suitable than the bitcoin

maybe the tips giver is the creator of the forum with the incoming advertising funds, this idea looks good but I think this doesn't last long if you only rely on good content creators who will be crowned as active members, this is very saturating

Yeah, I also wanted to mention Steemit. It doesn't tip in Bitcoin, though.
People on Reddit are sometimes pretty rude, especially when it comes to crypto. When someone got lots of carma of a post that said that bitcoin is a ponzi that made a lot of people lose their money already, I tried to oppose the view in the comments, referring to some basic characteristics of a ponzi and arguing that bitcoin does not have them. Well guess what, my post got downvoted a bit! What I'm trying to say is that I don't like the reference to Reddit (the forum owners might also not like it and sue Dreddit, you know) and that it's hard to build a community of people who care about the crypto market and did not just gather to laugh at memes, foster conspiracies or share FUD.

As if its name was copied, the more creative name would be good. Also, will it be as attractive as Bitcointalk? Because, there is even the forum( I do not remember its name) that is created like this. I guess you will collect the user depending on the amount of money you will give.
