If you have been affected by the Cryptopia hack in New Zealand (NZ), then this information is important for you. Through the official Discord channel of the exchange, its confirmed that the building is now back in Cryptopia’s hands. So far, thousands of Cryptopia victims are not accessing their funds and it seems this may happen for quite long. The crypto exchange was hacked twice in a period of two weeks.

Yikes 16.2 million $ in a period of two weeks its nowhere near the worth of what QuadrigaCX's users has lost with the system but I think its enough for a wake up call to transfer their funds (if there is any left) to other local crypto exchanges. But of course the best option will be for users are to transfer their cryptos to their respective wallets temporarily as from what I know Cryptopia is their best exchange and transferring it to another exchange won't guarantee that these exchanges will not be targeted as well.

Honestly, I have some altcoin from cryptopia it's not a big amount but maybe someday the value might be increased to 1000% just like what happen to bitcoin last year so it's still worth it to transfer if we have a chance.
As of now the site still showing the announcement with New Zealand police link below. So I think it's impossible right now to find who made the un-authorized transaction from cryptopia.

If the other funds still there like other altcoins they must give users access to their funds so that they can take their funds out from the site and I believe not all altcoins are transferred.

I feel that this is an inside job just like what happened to nicehash if this is a security breach why they don't still give all coins to the users?

That is why there are some decentralized exchanges created because of this issue.
I like the Binance dex as they let you fully access your own wallet where you can save private keys or seeds. So if the exchange cracked down or hacked then they can withdraw their altcoin from other wallets by using the backup private key or seeds, unlike Cryptopia which is a centralized exchange.

Another useless article from coinidol. The news is already about 2 months old and we all know that since. The article gives nothing new information about Cryptopia's case. We're soon in March and the hack happened in January.
By the way, not all users will be able to recover their funds (IF by chance it's recovered)

It is the exchange that was hacked so they should compensate hacked wallets. Assuming they have enough funds left as everyone rushes to take their coins out!
