NBA Playoffs 2019 Prediction Pool(Discussion)

Out of curiosity as I read here in Gambling discussion there are various sports that's conducting prediction pool, why is it there is no prediction pool regarding with the NBA playoffs?

I'm a Basketball enthusiast ever since I was a child and I'm so excited when the NBA playoffs are coming.

I was first maybe because I'm the only one asked about the 'NBA prediction pool'(I tried to read and understand things first before replying to you though).

Are talking about such pools like organized by hilariousandco? Right now I participate in Premier League and UEFA Champions League prediction pool and it's really fun and interesting competition.
Why there is no pool for NBA? Probably mainly because there not so many people interested in basketball here than we have football fans. Also, why would need trusted member who will organize pool and will held prize money.
If someone is going to make NBA pool, I would be interested to participate. I'm not an expert in NBA, I just watch games sometimes. I have much better knowledge in European tournaments like Euroleague and others

I also a basketball fanatics, but i contented to watch and enjoy choosing my favorite team no need to analysts or predict who's gonna get win i just focus to watch because i want to win my favorite team.

Do you evn have watch NBA? Lakers is one of the worst team right now, with or without LeBron. Im an not sure it will be that easy for the Warriors to win again this year. When they play at their best no one can beat them but during last weeeks they are not covering many games and they have even lost to a Hoouston team that played without Jarden. There arent many teams who can compete against GSW but i think Milwaukee,Toronto, Portland, Denver and maybe Houston if the would be a bit more organized could be a pontential threat to the title.

Let's see if it's really easy, I guess they are not the same Warriors, although they are still favored to win the NBA Finals but as a gambler I would prefer on an underrated team. How about the Bucks? They have been very consistent lately, with a healthy GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO, they have a shot to upset the warriors.

It would be really naive to think warriors are not the biggest challengers yet again.
Thinking Giannis has a shot with just one superstar team (and maybe Middleton as an all-star help) to go against 5 superstars.

I know cousins is not a great fit but he is a great talent that warriors could take advantage of, this team became champions with people like Zaza so it can't be that bad to have cousins. Warriors have absolutely no rivals this year at all, its even worse than the previous years because not only they replaced Durant for Barnes (which was 2 years ago) they also got cousins now so they are 5 all-stars instead of 3.

Realistically speaking this could be the year they go 16-0, maybe they won't and will lose couple games but there is absolutely no one that can take them in 7 game series. Do not mistake their regular season performence with playoffs, they will be much much better in playoffs.

As for the subject, how about we setup a contest here, for example with BTC0.003 (minimum fee), anyone can participate to have their predictions of those teams that will make successfully to playoffs. Of course it should be the exact teams that will take the first spot to 8th spot and a deadline since we are already on half season. Followed up details can be discussed later if majority wants this.

I suggest that you look at how successful prediction pools have been organized/set up in the past.

Playoffs begin in about a month and a half (13th April) and we have plenty of time to figure out things, get participants, find an escrow, etc.

If you need any assistance, I'm ready to help. I'm positive we can get a decent amount of people to join in.

The playoff hope of the Lakers are slowly fading, they loss again today at their home court against the Bucks.
All of their mistakes happened in the 4th quarter and Lebron looks frustrated, with this loss their chance of entering into the playoffs is getting dimmer.

Final score is 131-120 and the lakers got beaten in the 4th only with 8-26 scoring.

Yes you are right, I have seen no NBA prediction pool for playoffs compare to other sports.

What I plan is to make a prediction pool only to those team that will be eligible to play the post-season so that would be a total of 16 teams from eastern and western conference but I don't know what platform to use because I think it would be hard to facilitate this kind of prediction pool here in the forum as the post are editable.

I'm open for any suggestion that could help to make this happen.

I think it's doable. Posts might be editable but if changes are made (except for the first 7-10min) you will be notified. i.e dotted lines. There should be a deadline for prediction submissions prior to each round. Anyone who fails to do this in time will not receive any points as their submission will be deemed invalid. Post editing should be highly discouraged and accepted only if it is done within the deadline.


Things to be considered/done:

1. Find a trusted escrow.

2. Find at least 10 people who will commit and participate in the prediction pool.

3. Have a discussion about entry fees: 0.003, 0.004 or 0.005BTC.

4. Prediction format. So there will be four rounds:

1st round 8 games
2nd round 4 games
Conf. Semis 2 games
Finals 1 game

Let's say Bucks vs Pistons match up together in the first round and Bucks win the series 4-1. I would have anywhere between 2 to 5 points for correctly predicting the winner and 7 to 10 points for guessing the exact score. However, we need to find a balance between the two.

5. Have a discussion about prize pool allocation along with escrow fees.

6. Rules in case of tie records in the end, who gets the edge etc?

There are probably more things to consider...obviously  

I'd like to once more confirm that I'm going to participate. I'd like to see more people commit here in this thread.
