5G is apparently going to be much faster than cable which means that unless a node owner starts beeming their connection in 5G and it covers everywhere then no, or at least not yet.

If the internet communications world becomes decentralised then I'm sure we'll see much more of an impact (if a 5g emittor can be put into a phone that is at some point in the future).

We do not. 4G is also a bit fast too.

5G will be horrible too as I'm guessing it'll have a lower range and you'll have to be near the mast to get a high enough speed which then can't go down the cable at the same speed probably anyway..

I feel like more effort should be put into increasing the current range of 4G or even 3G rather than releasing more gimmicks.

If it is true that 5G will be 100 times faster then 4G networks then we will benefit from that speed and the things we can accomplish with the speed in terms of downloading. It wouldn't take long to download and synchronise the entire blockchain if those speeds would be supported.
But I am not sure that it will benefit bitcoin in terms of better adoption just because it becomes so much faster.

I think we don't need 5g because 4g is enough as it gives you faster browsing and faster downloading.
The only problem is the limitation of your downloading speed and uploading speed that I think 4g can give if you take higher internet speed plan.

I'm sure 5g will give you a better ping that I think good for mining, streamers and for gamers as it gives 100x faster than 4g but expects to pay much for a monthly plan.It is good only for a big company or big mining farms.

There will be a huge demand of 5G because of VR. Virtual Reality demands huge bandwidths. AR will also push it up.

Any increase in Internet speed will make things a lot easier for most people running full Bitcoin nodes. I presume cutting edge new technology like 5G will be very expensive in the beginning, so it will not be very affordable to the average user. Bandwidth cost on mobile devices are also more expensive, so it will not be very practical to use it for services and Apps that needs a lot of Bandwidth. <Downloading the Blockchain>   

Most average users will use online wallets and exchanges and they do not require fast internet speed for that.

5G can't be good or evil.
The faster the internet connection the better.Blockchain has other issues to be solved.
Quantum computers can be real threat to the blockchain(in the distant future),higher internet speed is not a threat.

bitcoin doesn't need such high speeds so at some point increasing the internet speed is not going to change that much. the bottleneck is mainly with hardware such as CPU speed for verification of blocks and transactions and hard disk space and speed of it for storing and reading them.

Afaik , cable or wired internet is more faster and stable than wirless signals like 3g/4g/5g/  .  5g would be more beneficial to us internet users because we can now download and stream a little more faster than we have right now on 4g networks  but 5g is not really beneficial on crypto use because it cannot speed up the transaction because the transaction speed will only depend on the fee's  you put up .

To all those who are saying that we don't need 5G I respect your opinion but no one forces us to use it, if you want to stay with 3G or 4G then that's fine it's just like using an old version of your phone even if there's an updated one. The main purpose of 5G is to greatly increase the speed and responsiveness of wireless networks so if it's over powered in today's usage then I think it's much better than nothing beside.
 
If it's for the good then why stop it, no one cares about the Internet before.

I heard there is an ongoing debate about the possible benefits and problems that are associated (or will be associated) with the coming introduction of the 5G technology. Some are questioning its viability and whether we really need this new introduction and some or many can be wondering what can it do for them today and into the future. I am then hoping that soon things will get clearer and at the end of the day the technology can be useful in many ways and that any backlash or negative side-effects can be manageable so we will not be wasting out time and resources here. I am personally for the improving of the speed of all internet connections most especially here in the many third world countries where service providers have specialized more on attractive advertising of their services rather than improving what they are offering.

3g 4g are all very fast and considering 5g will just be like the speed of light but it also have it own bad effect because 5G will render almost all the device we are using now useless on the 5g network unless we are able to upgrade our device's for it to work effectively. We shall be looking forward to that development.

The speed of 5G might be advantage but otherwise I think this will make the ness.Many device at the moment are not compatible to use 5G  but I guess there will be some time to adapt. Regarding Bitcoin, I don't know if there will be some benefits become in essence Bitcoin doesn't require such high speed.

Yes, it will provide a more faster internet connection but right now 4G is still good so there is no urgency for the 5G. Better to improve satellites tower in other places where there is no internet signal ever since so they can also enjoy cryptocurrency. In time, 5G will still happen as we grow in terms of technology and we cannot stop it whether we need it or not.

another point that people are missing when it comes to internet speed is that it sometimes doesn't really matter how fast YOU can DOWNLOAD when you are being limited by the upload speed of the nodes that you are connecting to. they can either be limited by their internet speed or they can manually limit their upload speed to save on their monthly traffic cap and their costs.

It is likely that thanks to 5G we will get such a fast Internet that all information can be available to us almost instantly and in very good quality. I'm not a scientist, but I am sure that 5G technology will have a strong impact on many areas of life and technologies that can use it. This will be a chain reaction.
