I was very surprised with this post by WorldCoinFoundation
http://www.facebook.com/worldcoinfoundation/posts/208391212703921

Quote
Are you looking to purchase even cheaper Worldcoins? Well, Look no further!

We are currently looking to raise money for development, promotions, and also to fund some of our ongoing projects!
Therefore, we have decided to sell some of our Worldcoins.
The exciting news are, we are willing to sell you guys our Worldcoins at an amazing -30% and -35% market price at the time of purchase!
How cool is that huh?.

And not only that! we have exatcly 284,758 WDC for sale!.
So don't miss out on a chance to grab on some cheap Worldcoins!

We currenctly accept different types of payment methods which include:
** International Bank Transfer (get -30% off market price)
** BTC/LTC/NMC/DOGE/PPC (get -35% off market price)

If you are interested in purchasing - send us a message on facebook.

Minimum required purchase: 500$ (300£)
Maximum purchase: 5000$ (3000£)

I sent a message asking them to sell me $500 worth and I got this response:

Quote
Hey,

Please transfer the 500$ worth of  bitcoins to the following address:
17ZJDrtoMyHjyoddQCXNKEnZpuSCeCyVcr

And provide us with your worldcoin address and we will send you discounted worldcoins straight away!

Thanks for doing business with us,

Kind Regards,

Worldcoin.

Note the following:

1) Address is already in use (https://blockchain.info/address/17ZJDrtoMyHjyoddQCXNKEnZpuSCeCyVcr), so they won't know I'm the one who paid.
2) They didn't specify exact BTC or WDC amount
3) I asked to use escrow (coin-swap.net) and I'd pay all fees but they rejected it. They'll sell only if I send first to an address already in use.

I posted my thoughts in their post (http://www.facebook.com/worldcoinfoundation/posts/208391212703921) and instead of explaining, they just deleted my comment and blocked all further comments!

WARNING! DO NOT PROCEED!

Sounds like a fantastic way to arbitrage the value of your altcoin by -you guessed it- -30% and -35% market price.

Seriously?  Cheesy

Looks like their account got hacked? Personally I'd like to know.  Shocked
I was a dumbass that put a bunch of BTC into Worldcoin when the value was, oh, about 420% higher than it is now.

I'm trying to get out.  Huh

It sounds like a scam. They have absolutely no reason to undersell their own coins. They could just sell them on an exchange.

I think you're right.
Everyone should also keep in mind that the Worldcoin Foundation actually no longer exists, though the facebook page hasn't been renamed and is still being updated. The forum is completely empty as well.

Here's my private facebook conversation with them:

WDC selling. Is this legit? Could you please post in the Worldcoin Forum?

I'm interested in about .5 BTC worth of coins.

Worldcoin Foundation

Hi,

I am only selling it on facebook at the moment, if you are interested in buying please let me know as we can do this now.

Thanks

Okay, that's fine.

Please send me a BTC address, and can I also have the sending WDC address? I would like to take a quick look at the address through the block explorer to look at today's outputs.

Just kind of wary.

Worldcoin Foundation

Hi,

We do not give out our private addresses, if you are still looking to purchase it send the btc to : 17ZJDrtoMyHjyoddQCXNKEnZpuSCeCyVcr

And send us your worldcoin address,

Thanks

There is no reason you shouldn't be able to send me your WDC address. All I want to do is validate that you have indeed sent output transactions. Of course, I would receive the address anyway as soon as you sent the coins.

The old foundation facebook has been hacked.

The post is total BS. The foundation never ever had that many WDC and what they did have was turned over the Worldcoin Alliance a few days ago.

This is either someone being spitefull or someone wanting to create some market chop to trade off of.

The facebook page has been hacked, yet again an insecure social network site !!

Allowing idiots to post whatever they want on a page that they should not have access to.

Not for one second do I think that after all of the work that the Worldcoin alliance and the community has been doing over the last few months would be thrown away by any of them.

They do not need to raise funds because ALL of the work done is done by the community for free and the mention of trying to raise funds is simply not true and I would suggest that as many people as possible report the page as soon as possible

I have regained control of that facebook page.

It is unfortunate but Worldcoin seems to be the target of a lot of haters.

We will not be deterred however and will continue to push forward like we have been the past couple of weeks.

Most of the time it's idiot users and insecure password. Where do you get the idea it's Facebook being insecure?

There's nearly a million dollars sitting in that account, and nearly 4 million has passed through it.
This is why people shouldn't be okay with scammers. That's 4 million dollars taken out of crypto by ONE SCAM GROUP.
