I'd prefer bitcoin enthusiasts to true believers. Understanding the protocol behind the technology and acknowledging rhe potential it has to disrupt the financial system, does not mean you would overlook it's flaws as 'beleivers' in any sphere are wont to.

If I understand this correctly, you mean as investors increase and more enthusiasts join the community, it would support the upward movement of price. And that is true, mass adoption would be pivotal to the growth of bitcoin within the next decade.

I think that the average bitcoin believer isn't very rich.
Having many btc believers won't automatically increase the btc price,because of what I call "the HODLer effect".Many people have bought btc in the past and they just HODL.They aren't participating actively in the market,thus the price isn't going up,because nobody is buying more btc.

It's true but for the HODLERS that has been in the market for years aren't willing to spend most of the bitcoin we held. We spend for some services or goods but we manage to maintain our holdings because we're all waiting for the bull run.

Everyday there are new people who are interested to bitcoin. They are increasing quickly because the character of bitcoin can't be denied and that makes them optimistic to it. As long as there will be new money flowing in to the market, it will increase demand.

Never say never... So many various things can happen and make bitcoin suffer even bigger crash.
Natural disasters like asteroids, automatically comes to mind, scary but possible. Obviously in such horrible scenario, cryptocurrency is the last thing we will be worried about.
So far, so good reality is what we are currently in, being a believer may be insufficient at some point. Appropriate action will be necessary, personal adoption to the maximum extent. By this I mean complete and uncompromised rejection of fiat systems.
Throwing fiducial money in to garbage can, to be frank. Extreme measure for the extreme times.
Let us hope such hard choice will never face us but also we should be aware of that beliefs are not solid enough to sustain this revolution. IMO this is something that we believers know but cant express to well because it scares us.

This weekend was probably the worst with those treads that really reek of dispersion, BTC is better than lotto, the believers are hodling, best times to get into crypto, the halving is coming...and I still haven't set foot yet in speculation.

I wish the community was more concerned with the survival of crypto than with getting more fiat here and now, but that's not how the world works. I also catch myself checking the price in the mornings when the price starts moving. Usually I don't care and can immerse myself in work or hobbies for a day without even checking this forum and bitcoin charts, but when there's a +/- 10% move I end up getting excited, even though I never do anything with it. I don't buy because I'm out of fiat money and I don't sell because the price is simply too low. I haven't sold since 10k and if I end up having to wait for it to go back to 10k for another 3 years, I will.

My advice to OP and others with similar goals: Buy and forget about it. It will go up I assure you. It may be tomorrow, but it may also be in the Summer of 2020. You can't do anything about it, so why lose time and nerves?

you are portraying those with bitcoin as members of some cult that are following some belief with blind eyes and closed off brains. but it really isn't like that. the fact that some people own bitcoin and are buying more of it has nothing to do with them just believing in bitcoin. it is about seeing its usefulness and seeing the features that it offers which can not be found anywhere else.

From a market speculator's point of view, many do not understand well that bitcoin has had its phases of accumulation, trend and distribution, some analysts only rely on technical analysis to express it, others are based on the rise of technology , which is very valid, but I believe that bitcoin encompasses all these visions and are often difficult to express.

Bitcoin could have another inflation bug or could get 51% attacked and will still hold value, if something catastrophic like another inflation bug happened there would still be tons of people waiting to buy in cheap.  Just the chance of owning the most recognized cryptocurrency as a keepsake is something people will do.

It doesn't matter if you are true or "fake" believer, if bitcoin exists, this automatically means it has value or at least is traded on yobit haha. Also people are happy to buy/sell goods in exchange of bitcoin any time not because they are believers of bitcoin but because it's great payment method and this way you'll find more/additional users. Almost everyone cares on profit, without benefit no one wants your bitcoin, yeah it's benefit when price increases, when it offers anonimity, fast transaction and etc. No one believes in it blindly without benefits.

As far as I understand, its the exact opposite. Those who came in late 2017 and early 2018 is already out of the market because they have lost so much money already. For who come in this community as just bounty whores and not true believers. And the price is still around $3700, still a far cry from the last all-time-high so there's not push from the believers that you're saying here.

Indeed, everyone strives to always believe in what we believe is very valuable while still on earth, only a matter of time when the Btc rises again, maybe in their current position they wait longer than holding a Btc with a very long time, plus a burden the huge mentality they bear for people who have survived after the hype happened at the end of last year, I believe that prices will increase in value in the next few years, after people are convinced that everything will happen after what the government does is a more positive.
