It was in 2009 when Uber, a centralized ride-hailing company, started. Now it's 2019. Maybe it's time for decentralized ride-sharing platforms to take over.

Yes, indeed the time has come for these promising decentralized cab-hailing platforms to be taking the scene...but I am wondering what took them so long to conquer the market? The market is getting bigger and bigger everyday yet I still have to see any of these decentralized platforms to be stealing the scene from Uber. Now, I am asking: Are these really capable of taking over the market or are they mostly just promises and nothing more. Now, am hoping to be really, really wrong on this because I am a firm believer in decentralization too but I also understand the nuisances of the market of people who have human nature always at their sides.

Here's what I think: What's taking them so long to take over Uber is the fact that up until now, centralized transactions is still preferred by most over blockchain-based transactions. So without enough patrons, any blockchain-controlled innovation will just be a second option.

I find that ride sharing business is disruptive to the current transportation business. It is a good business area to explore and could be an exploding business. Hope to see a crypto startup that can be successful in this field.

Right! I even heard of a few apps that help drivers find the nearest parking lots — but these are not decentralized, though.
