In the last few years, Ethereum has seen it’s potential recognized by several important people in the industry and even some people affirm that it would overtake Bitcoin. However, Ethereum lost over 90% of its value last year. Despite this setback, ETH remains a strong contender for the throne.
Now, Ethereum has just seen its hard fork finally become a reality. This will prompt the start of the road map for Ethereum 2.0, which Vitalik Buterin defines as the future of the network.
In order to get to Ethereum 2.0, Ethereum would have to pass several phases: Frontier, Homestead and Metropolis. The latest update was a part of this last phase, Metropolis.
