I'm still shocked by this season

This is what the thread was created for. To discuss about the final season.
Here is the recent review about the episode I have found which shows some of the dark shots pretty well when the brightness is turned up all the way.

That's a great reviewer, by the way, I always watch the YouTuber EmergencyAwesome for these types of videos, even the Avengers/MCU with those types of reviews. Thanks for recommending that.

It was definitely a lot to take in in that episode, knowing that the Night King was defeated. I really liked Arya and how she became what she is now. The character is really what I expected her to be and she's still the one I like.

For the brightness parts, I did think about it by increasing the brightness during the scenes but I'm too excited about what will happen during the episode and it was definitely worth it, even if I have to sleep late at night. It has been one of the greatest battles and scenes for me for the whole duration of GoT

Episode 3 was massively disappointing for me, a 9 year buildup for the white walkers and winter is coming stuff
and he gets one shotted by a 1000 meter jumping ninja Arya, i was expecting something deeper that was just incredibly disappointing and anticlimactic.
And all of those Deus Ex Machina last minute saves of the Main characters was terrible as well too much cliché for my taste, game of thrones isn't what it once was...

I think the next episodes would be focused on how Cersei will be defeated and another great battle to happen on episode 5. I can't wait to watch it!

Maybe that's just what you think. It's all about the possibilities. I don't know if it's all there is to it but I think there would be a much bigger payoff in the long run (which is 3 more episodes) and understand why everything around Bran Stark (ehem, Three-Eyed Raven) is weird in a way. Is he actually evil?

I spent a lot to buy pop corn and pepsi to watch that episodes, doing a preparation for 2 years just to watch that episode. and I feel the same feeling like you!

It all started to go down in quality when the show passed the books because George RR Martin is such a slow writer...
But who could blame him with his newfound fame and wealth, i'd also had better things to do than to write books under the immense pressure of fans to deliver a coherent and satisfying story.

I don't think that's the point and what is happening. There are differences between the books and the cinematic tv show plots in some way and with the current episode where the Night King was defeated, I don't think it's the end, with whatever is happening. Imagine building up for seven seasons, and now it's on the last season currently ending in a few weeks, and it's just like that? I think, in the end, it's all planned out, and possibilities are endless. Think of it, having a dragon in the series, creating fire out of nowhere, an old person is looking like a young adult using a necklace, etc. What's next?

They are only done winds of winter but has another book coming after it should be about what is about to happen in the next three episodes left with the last war and the coming of spring.

for those ARYA OH YES SO BADASS scenes. Aren't there 2 books supposed to come out still? And GRRM has talked about his possible death before being able to finish the book series too, is he maybe out of ideas and wants to have the books to rather have no ending than a bad one?

Yes those are the two books to come out mentioned. Winds of winter is done but not released and the other book dream of spring is not written yet.

They are very different from the shows according to some articles released today of who dies and who doesnt.

Very strange if they kill off people in those books while they will be untouched in the show kind of like how samwell just doesnt die.

Game of thrones is really getting some serious hype in the movie industry and i think it's because of how the movie is really interesting and full of surprises. watched the episode 1 of season 8 and i love it.

This is just a very cool season. I had high expectations, but now I understand that this is the best I've seen in my life.

If it didnt have these twists then it wouldnt be game of thrones as you pretty much hit the nail on the head.
The season three ender was a shock because the build up of such a character just to end it like that was disappointing to many who thought it should of ended a different way. But it is not their story to tell.
The showrunners could deviate from what martin will write in the final two books as well.

If you haven't known yet, the tv show is already past the point of martin's last book. There will most likely be different endings for the show and the books as there are still 2 books left. Ep3 ending was a bit of a shock indeed but some of the characters were in a way, expected to say goodbye like ser jorah and beric d. The military aspect of it though was pretty foolish for someone defending or preparing for a seige. That arya move was totally unexpected.

The only thing i like about that movies are the dragons and how they tend to kill on the command of the mother of dragons.
