Hi,

I have 72x GPU's over 12 rigs in my Garage and a few in the loft. I want to condense this down as I want my garage back (and not to be 40c) lol

Should I have 1 big tent with all 72 cards in or 2 smaller tents with 36 in each?

I already have 1 x 12"(315mm) vent fan (1000 CFM) and 2 x 10" (250mm) vent fans (800 CFM)

I have 1 vent point in my garage on the wall which is 10" (250mm)

If 1 large tent I was thinking of a tent around 2.4x1.2x2.0M (WXDXH) using the 2x 250mm fans to vent (using a 250mm Y piece) and 1x 315mm as an intake fan, Along with several fans inside the tent moving the air around.

Ideas and opinions welcome!

Cheers

A setup like that is all about evacuating the heat so I would not bother with an intake fan. Just use a passive intake with a filter on it. If you are blowing air around try to make it all directional, like from the front blowing over the rigs with the exhaust fans pulling from behind

I think what you need here is to pull out all of your hot air if you create exhaust from your tent it is the best decision to take your hot air out from the tent.

The important is to remove all hot air inside and take them out so you need exhaust here and fresh air as intake air it should have dust filter to reduce air dust.

I think a lot depends on the climate in your country. But in any case, you need to create conditions so that moisture and dust does not penetrate into your tentbooch as it must be fully ventilated. I also think that you need to think about increasing the height of your tent.

I also think that you need to think about increasing the height of your tent.

Increasing the height will just give more places for the hot air to go and stagnate. It is all about evacuating enough hot air to keep things flowing.

What Fanatic said, exhaust all of it.  Any space those are in should have either free and open space for heat to escape or negative pressure generated by a big ass exhaust fan.

You don't want to create a vacuum chamber as you need fresh air to blow over the GPU's to dissipate heat properly while evacuating stale used heat.

I have a detached garage with 80 gpus and 5 z9s.  It use to be 20-30 degress hotter then the outside temp.  I use to have fans blowing in and out but never got it cool, until I switched all fans to blow air out and one low entrance for the cool air to come in.  I have so much air being forced out the vacuum will suck the door open.

Thanks for the replies, very helpful.

I have purchased most the bits I need so I shall be starting to put this together in the coming week or 2.

Part list

2.4x1.2x2.0M (WxDxH) grow tent

4 x chrome racks 75x35x150CM (WxDxH) to house 3 rigs each (18 GPUS)

60x 570/580 (4gb) 12x x 1070 GPU's all at stock (I will get around to undervolting) pulling in total 10000-11000 watts

2x 12" (315mm) inline extraction fans 1 x 1000CFM & 1 x 800CFM, I am considering adding another 150mm vent fan rated at 500CFM, I shall see how it copes first.

Ambient temps are below 10c 80% of the time and below 20C 98% of the time (North, UK)

I'll get some pics up soon
