Send messages to space? like I can txt the NASA astronauts Not literally like that but it's possible if you are going to send message directly to those astronauts. The message will go through a satellite and we have to pay with few bitcoin fees through spacebit.live. Here's the main article: People Are Paying Bitcoin to Send Weird and Wild Messages Into Space

Further innovations is keep on going. Now this is a great good news for me to know that the Bitcoin now is used to send messages to space. I am hoping more further updates will be given so far.

It's a cool service and all, but this is already done free of charge by encrypted messaging services. Though I rarely use such services and barely have anyone to send some messages just for the lulz, I might try the service and see whether it's worthy of some merits. People come up with crazy ideas everyday, and this is one of them. Perhaps in the event of media blackout, this service would be utilized greatly. At least it's there already.

This is actually very important in a world that are getting more censored by the day. Just remember that Bitcoin can be transferred with a simple text message, so you are not just going to send a message to someone without being censored, you will also be able to send wealth/bitcoins to someone without having to rely on government controlled infrastructure. So next time someone tells you that governments will shutdown the Internet and effectively stop Bitcoin transfers, then you can tell them about alternative initiatives like this.

This will not be an easy task to totally accomplish. Using bitcoin to send messages will be quite an innovating project so for now let's keep our fingers crossed

Coindesk link in the second sentence of your article? You should post a link to the original article here, not a link to your blog. Anyway, sending encrypted messages isn't something new.I think it's the core of what cryptography is all about.Programming satelites by a crypto related platform,on the other hand, sounds revolutionary.

if you just want to "send messages" then there is no point in using bitcoin for it! there are literary dozens of methods that can work a lot better than using bitcoin network which is not designed for something like that because bitcoin is a "currency" and its blockchain is meant for processing monetary transactions not a message board for sending nonsense poetry and stuff like that which people have been doing so far!

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

With your explanation we can say that bitcoin is just use as payment gateway for sending the messages. It is still a good news because if bitcoin is use as payment gateway globally it will lead to fast adoption.

most likely the blockchain will grow. the problem is that the user and creator of the blockchain won't keep quiet when the development is just like that. of course new innovations are needed so that development will grow again

Though I don't have someone to send message in space, it's still a great innovation and would be beneficial for future use. Great thing that it continues to develop and the usage of bitcoin continues to grow as well. As bitcoin continues to show great development and usage, it can also gather more recognition from the people.

I still see this one a more convenient way to talk to the people in the space and those families who really want to have communications witht their love ones. I hope this is not for fun anymore, and a more realistic way i just can’t imagine how bitcoin can be used as messages this project really makes my mind works again, good luck for the developer of this ambitious move.

It isn't a crazy idea but it isn't really that kind of common thing that can see on everyday. This idea is really useful for those families who do have relatives or loved ones who do work in space or simply an astronaut and other similar jobs as well.Im aware with that service which do have free of charge, I don't know if this recent one would be the same.

So is it a service that is sending messages via bitcoin network or separate service that is sending messages by itself, accepts BTC and taking some fees in cryptocurrencies? At the same time there is not much information in the article about how it works and why should I be sure that my messages will go directly to space and not to project devs.

I am very interested in one fact - how money will be used in space. In general, someone wondered what humanity would face when it needed payment instruments in space. I think that exactly then - Bitcoin will begin to squeeze the other currencies that usualy for us, just for the reason - that its transactions do not require any serious mechanisms.
But these are one more interesting thing. Interestingly, some person will be able to transfer funds over a distance of several light years. I think that at the moment none payment system can provide technology as safe and reliable as blockchain!

I think it's really borderless and I'm sure in the future we can send bitcoin without using the internet as the article says.
It's truly amazing how blockchain technology has transformed our society in the last 5 years or so and there could be a lot of innovations in the future that will take advantage of it.
So I would say that sky is the limit and we do hope that those inventions or innovations will really help our society in general.

sending messages into space hmmm I don't fully believe that, because bitcoin blum is fully in the world is obliged to understand bitcoin in every country but they send messages into space, I guess that's impossible.

I think you're taking the sending to space part a bit too serious. All that's happening is you broadcasting your transaction to a satellite and from there it bounces back to whoever you sent your transaction to. It allows you to use Bitcoin without needing an internet connection, and that's the main advantage here. It does require you to have a hardware setup, but with time these setups will become more user friendly and cheaper. I haven't tried it yet, and I probably won't ever have to with how solid the infrastructure is in Europe, but in certain countries this is definitely a useful feature, especially with oppressive regimes censoring everything.
