Most of the discussions seem to revolve around the coins, tokens and wannabe currencies in the cryptosphere. Don't forget that crypto is now an industry, and this means there are many other related projects and investments. Some that I can think of are -

- Promotional items and memorabilia.
- Domain names.
- Educational services and eBooks.
- Programming and software development
- Building communities.
- Advertising and sponsorship

and probably many more. So what are you doing for the industry?

Crypto got itself quite a merchandise and fans around and about it, it helps people to provide services online but it is not a production of anything it is a currency and also kinda a information storage system.
Now the making of shitcoins, coins, and tokens is another thing , contrary than before where you wanted to see 5 coders and community you now see perhaps a coder a graphic designer three ceos and two marketing guys.
I do admit and happy to see that actual business are investing into the blockchain technology may it be airlines, hotels, photocameras or a small online vendor at a raising rate.

Memorabilia is probably one of the strongest use cases as can be seen from the popularity of the coins auctioned here at the forum. The nature of blockchain lends itself nicely to memories. Advertising and online tipping seems to have a lot of potential too.

Another major sector is the financial and insurance products.
A trend i am noticing is that bitcoin related products aren't yet very visible while ETH/ Alternate chains based products are starting to get serious in their development and the attention they are getting.

Personally, I am interested in seeing how the mining sector will evolve and whether we can still have a system of home based miners providing chain security. This seems settled as far as Bitcoin is concerned but for alternate chains, the market is still open.

IMO Beware of those who claim all alts are scams.
The alts have proven to be and are the incubators for fixes, advances, innovation to blockchain tech and code as well as will be truly disruptive to the corrupt behemoth corporations that exist today.
OFC there are the scams and ICOs that run away with your money.
I personally have been a victim of a few alts devs that stole my ideas and left their projects after cashing out.

There are also for entertainments, like movies about crypto. Have you heard the new crypto movie? Crypto 2019 directed by John Stalberg Jr. It's all about investigation of corruption and fraud using cryptocurrency, you can watch their movie trailer . This kind of movies will help the adoption of crypto. We are just starting!

When satoshi created the bitcoin by working for around 1 or 2 years with the code, I am sure he would have never thought that this would become a global phenomenon. Failed Hopes for creating a non-double spending electronic currency was his only important thought when he designed them. Since this was a open source, many more people contributed their own ideas and by this way we have evolved into what we are today. When he wrote the code, he just read through and utilized all the failures which were caused in the past and prevented one to develop a decentralized currency which can withstand as a competitor to some of the major fiat currencies and the governments.

Most parts of the world is far less democratic, with governments taking over the full control over the people and the famous quote which was put forward by Lincoln for democracy doesn't make sense in this new era. Hence, to prevent us from being controlled he created a currency which will be controlled by the people. The cryptocurrency industry doesn't comprises only of coins and their market as you say. They are lot more than that linking almost all the fields in this world.

The more we learn about the industry, we understand how less we had known about the industry so far.

  • Apart from the core fields such as civil and mechanical engineering, they do link through all the engineering streams and mastering not just code will make you an expert in the industry. The electronic hardware machines which helps us to mine the coins are also a part of the industry.
  • Finance is a major sector of the industry which consists of Monetary Policies, Businesses, Markets and more importantly Economics.
  • As you have pointed out Memorabilia is one of the core imporant points. Turning through the pages of "Digital Gold" book brings us lots of thoughts and insights which would have run inside the mind of satoshi while designing a currency for the future. This forum itself serves as a Digital Museum for satoshi writings, some of the important events, DPR getting caught for posting his email addy etc. Unless this forum is functioning, the memories which triggered the biggest events would never fade from us.

10 years have just passed since the creation of bitcoin, but we are moving at a rapid phase in development and have a lot more to travel.

Yes! Thank you!  This needed to be said. It's so disappointing to see everyone so focused on the money aspect of crypto- the get rich quick scheme. That's not it at all. People are trying to take their freedom and privacy into their own hands and that's more important than just becoming a millionaire. So many great projects are taking place that are changing humanity and we should focus on their positive impact rather than their $ worth

If Bitcoin wants to become the new money, it needs to be the currency for everybody. Like a driver in a car, there is
no need for the driver to fully understand how the internal combustion works.
*We will not see this until ideological changes from the community / banks occur, namely centralization and decentralization.

I started to collect badges of different cryptocurrencies out of the rankings https://coinmarketcap.com/.
In our country, as in many other countries, I think today there is a trade in symbols of all the leading crypto-currencies.
So someone used to collect stamps, someone badges, now it is possible to collect crypto symbols and it's fun!!!

This sounds like fun. So you're basically selling stickers of crypto coins/tokens? It's quite interesting to see that people want to have something like that. I personally never interested in that kind of thing but it seems business is developing rapidly.

I'd probably open up an education channel or blog about crypto in my local language asap if I have time. And then sell something for crypto, maybe my writing services. Though it's really a competitive field because a lot of people can simply do that in their spare time, and it's difficult to write something and get the attention for it unless you can write a really good article, or simply has lots of real followers/friends.

The way I see it the biggest part of crypto world is service, like financial institutions, they are here to offer us an easy and convenient way to exchange value using coins, tokens, transactions, confirmations... Sure there are industrial parts to it, but just like when people say the banking industry or the insurance industry, even the movie/entertainment industry, it's work but it's not industry it's a service. To me industry is the manufacturing of physical goods. Drugs (medeicine drugs not weed and cocaine) are an industry, the distribution of it is a service, their sale is a service, the doctors that prescribe them give a service.

What do you mean by badges? You mean the tangible coin of certain crypto? Actually, I'm looking for that one but but I can't find near in my place. Did you have a friend of yours who also offers the same thing? Preferably a Filipino like me because I don't like transacting from overseas.

Yes, of course, Crypto is an industry, not just a bunch of coins. There are millions of people involved in related bitcoin business. You can not imagine that how many websites are involved in and supporting the cryptocurrency business. How many exchanges and wallets are working for it. Nealy 6500 sub coins are there in the market. The BTC is the father coin. How many bounties are working today and how many are prepared for launching.
In fact, Bitcoin is supporting a huge industry directly affecting the the economy of the world. Bitcoin's role is very positive in world business. But there is need to understand & there is need to work for its development.

Well said. In deed , Crypto space has shown tremendous growth during past 2 years and investors and traders booked good profit by taking benefit of this hype. Now new sectors are emerging in crypto like gaming coin, NFts and metaverse projects, these sectors perform well during 2021 and they are continuously trending and creating new opportunities of earning for investors and online game players.
