Hey everyone, I've been looking for a new VPN for my crypto stuff. I'm currently running Nord VPN and my subscription is coming to an end this month, I've read around for the best vpns but can't seem to find the definitive one, ExpressVPN is recommended A LOT across most of these sites, but I just don't see it as being as reputable. Found this which is more US centric https://vpntoolbox.com/best-vpn-for-usa/ProtonVPN is fairly new, I may opt for that since I already use protonmail. Which ones do you guys use and which would you recommend? Thanks.

Hi OP, duckduckgo has a good article on this as well, see link. And they recommend TorGuard. If privacy-focused nuts make a recommendation on something, you can bet it works well Regardless of which VPN you choose, always find a way to check that they really are a "no logs" provider. Interesting article on this ( link). Had to link to archive as main site appears down.

Ipvanish is good alternative for expressVPN it gives you residential IP and they offer more socks IP which is better than using a normal proxies. This is just good alternative ExpressVPN they are both competitor.

It looks like expressvpn does have a strict policy on this, I may opt for them, they're also in a 'safer' jurisdiction.

From what I've read, IPVanish doesn't have the best streaming via it's servers. I will take a look if that has changed.

No problem. This is a very good video on the security aspects of VPNs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oja3UzuuqGQBe sure to check it out.

I like NordVPN because you can pay with bitcoin or monero. A VPN brings nothing if you pay with your creditcard because they get your identity threw your creditcard details...

https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-section/This is the best site for comparing and contrasting VPNs, and helping you to pick the one which is right for you. Unfortunately, there is no "best" VPN, and the one you want depends on what priority you put on things such as which jurisdiction they are based in, what logs they do or do not keep, what payment methods they accept, security, speed and pings, encryption protocols, etc. You will need to do a bit of research to find the best VPN which is tailored for your specific needs. You can also find a list on this site ( https://www.privacytools.io/#vpn) which only includes VPN providers based outside the US, with no logs, using encryption and accepting bitcoin payments.

I can confirm this, I've chosen them because of a promo offer but often I had to change servers in order to get uninterrupted streaming. So, taking into account that I don't need that much privacy and I have little to hide I've switched to cactusvpn, fewer servers, but far more reliable bandwidth. Plus the 45$ or something for a yearly plan sealed the deal pretty fast. I like NordVPN because you can pay with bitcoin or monero. A VPN brings nothing if you pay with your creditcard because they get your identity threw your creditcard details...
Browsing a few months ago for VPNs I think there are more than offer crypto payments than the ones that don't.

There are 2 serious problem with VPN : 1. There's no way to verify if VPN honor your privacy (never store log, never share user's information, etc.) 2. Few crap VPN have bad security such as DNS request leak or using outdated/week encryption
Frankly i'd recommend another option such as Tor. But if it's not an option for you, then i'd recommend ProtonVPN, TorGuard or NordVPN which popular among people who're looking for privacy

Make your own Buy a cheap VPS (you can find some good deal on LowEndBox for $15/ year) and install OpenVPN. It's not so difficult to set up even if you never did it before, there are many tutorials available online to watch for. You do it only once and you're good to go. You can add also another user to share the connection with your friends or family for example

1. There's no way to verify if VPN honor your privacy (never store log, never share user's information, etc.) This is true. However, there are some VPNs who in the past have been subpoenaed (or their jurisdiction's equivalent) to provide logs, and have had to prove that they had no logs they could provide. While that doesn't guarantee they are not storing logs now, it is still a helpful indicator. Make your own The issue with this is that if someone manages to tie you to your VPN, then it becomes useless from a privacy point of view, as they now know that all traffic leaving the VPN is yours.

I agree with you that credit card payments in addition to NordVPN help you get into many other sites. I use NordVPN myself so it's great at work There is no hassle and you can easily get information from various sites.
