I feel like my project won't gain the funding needed in time, in order to combat this I feel as if I should lean more towards help from the community in order to get the product developed while still being short on funds? How would I succesfully transaction to this? are community members really willing to help develop a product for free?Huh

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Probably simply upload your code repository to GitHub?

If the community finds it useful and valuable, then chances are, there are eventually going to be some people that's going to contribute to your project. It really completely depends on what your project is. Does your project need a lot of funding to be up and running?

Would of required at least 2-3m USD for the first year in just getting a functional product developed, that is as it would be a democratic privacy platform, in which would look at implementing new state of the art scaling, private transactions, the use of EEG Biometrics, implementing a safe and secure voting platform through the use of Homomorphic Encryption, safely store keys through a users Biometrics, getting the headset developed and such.

Uploading your repo to GitHub would be the first obvious step of course, given the multitude of code geeks and friendly community members willing to help anyone in need of their expertise. This might be odd to say but there are some groups in reddit in which you can get some of the help you needed, as there are different subreddits dedicated to a certain niche. You just need to learn the best channels and media to post your question for something and eventually, people will help (as the internet is a truly odd and wonderful place.)

This is quite tedious, and I think people would be interested to help if there is some form of reward, though with the amount of work needed to complete your project, it'll be hard at first and you need to man all stations before someone else fills the job for you. $2-$3M USD is not something anyone can get off of their pockets easily.

Well damn. That's a lot bigger than I was expecting. I was thinking more of smaller scale projects like https://bpip.org/ or like Mocaccino's https://unblur.ninja.

With your case, if you really need that much money, then my guess would be that you're going to need investors. How do you get investors? I don't have the slightest idea. You're probably going to need a financial advisor for this.

Yea that's my worry it is quite a big project, I would find it hard for users to hop on board for free.

Have you tried platforms like AngelList? I know they put angel investors in touch with startups but am not clear about what stage the startup has to be in to participate.

Another alternative is to use platforms like gofundme. This platform has been used to raise money for pretty amazing stuff. Example: https://www.gofundme.com/TheTrumpWall

Other options would be accelerators and incubators? Not sure what is the state of your product but without a minimum viable product, it may be hard to raise the funds you are talking about.

However, this is certainly not impossible. Once sat in a talk by Rod Drury (Founder of Xero) and he talked about how he managed to raise money from the public even without a working product. Good luck!

============================

(https://www.forbes.com/sites/halgregersen/2014/05/28/how-rod-drury-built-xero-from-a-small-set-of-rocks-in-the-south-pacific-into-a-global-player/#1f55733433fd)

Xero’s innovation extended beyond accounting software—it was also funded in a unique way. In New Zealand at the time, the biggest VC deal was about two million dollars. Perhaps not surprising given the size of the country (which Drury calls “a small set of rocks in the South Pacific”) but Drury needed more than that. So he went public on day one.

“We had 100 customers and no revenue,” he explained. “We were a public company from the word ‘go.’”

i think this is your "Scroda" thing which you have been talking about before too.
well first of all you need to provide the patent number which you claimed it is "patent pending" for verification then you have to actually provide good information about the project and how you think it will return the investors' money with profit.

so far, to me it looks like all the other ICOs that have been created in the past 3 or 4 years with a "pretty idea" raising a lot of money and then delivering absolutely nothing.

have you done any coding? do you even have any other projects which these supposed investors could check to see your history/resume?

You may need to go to Silicon Valley or Government. It is difficult to get such open source funding unless you have a team and patent registration.
Either you can deal successfully with such as the reference to the bpip project. Society needed to that project so some members of this forum spent some time "unpaid in evolution."
I am sure if your project deserves development, you will find a lot of developers are developing for free only highlight the idea in real life.
Funding if the project does not succeed initially and has been properly formulated will not get that amount.

I have some friends who developed a 3D printer and got $ 10 million for the project after 4 years of development.

I think in your case, it's better if you can secure a loans or funding from the government. And I'm thinking that your sales pitch is all about the "secure voting platform". Maybe the government will find it interesting and you will be in the forefront of the development. At the conditions of the market today, it's really hard to get that needed money from investors alone, just saying.

I agree on this, well, the community will be able to help you with your project if your project will meet their standard as a helpful and promising project. Do not expect them to give services or donate for your project financially for free. You have to be creative in finding ways to offer them the best deal and you have to start looking for ideas now.

There's actually a way to get some funding while you're working on your project, especially if it's an open-source project.
I've done many contributions for open-source projects and I get paid for those contributions through Utopian-IO

https://join.utopian.io/

Utopian is a platform that rewards contributions made to open-source projects, they do so by giving you high value upvotes on articles where you put in the details of your contributions.
You need to publish those articles on the Steem blockchain, they will review those contributions and give them a score.

The value of the upvote you receive depends on the score they give you.

Just to give you an idea of how much their upvote are worth:

Source: https://steemit.com/trending/utopian-io

You can work on your own project and get paid for doing so. Upvote values range from $10 to around $80 per contribution.

They accept contributions in the following categories:

- Development
- bug hunting
- Translations
- Blogs (about open-source projects-
- Documentation
- Tutorials
- Graphic Design
- Project visibility (they pay you for promoting your own project through advertising)

Check out their website for more information:

how to convince them we must have a strong way and according to them is good, so that if they see your project not only just seen but they will help in your project.
