I stumbled upon Youtube on a crime drama thriller movie trailer, which is called CRYPTO and will be released soon. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Waves, Stellar and NEO) play a key role in the movie. The movie features stars like Kurt Russell, Luke Helmsworth and Alexis Bledel.

Who's going to watch this movie on April 12? I don't find it interesting though it gives more publicity for bitcoin.

NOTE: If you're expecting a movie about the real roots/stories concerning bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, you're going to be disappointed. This movie is just a sort of thriller movie concerning money laundering and other crimes using cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin was already mentioned in different movies and serials, also in better ones then this shit that hollywood gonna show us this time. Also in the past couple of years almost all media were talking about bitcoin. What kind of publicity do you need now ? The price of BTC is not growing just because more people know about it.

There was a shitty serial called 'startup' that showed approximately the same shit that looked ridiculous and was pretty far from truth. I expext to see the same quality movie this time.

It's definitely a good thing to see movie producers find a way to introduce bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies into a movie while also making it interesting because the action focuses on some scenes topical to a drama movie. Even though bitcoin is not necessarily the main thing that this movie focuses on, I am sure they have found a way to expose bitcoin to new people since the title of this movie is Crypto.

I'm not sure in what aspect they're gonna project the bitcoin. If it gets projected in the positive way surely it'll help with the growth of bitcoin, but if something negative is projected surely large number of users who were with plans of experimenting and getting into cryptospace will postpone or drop it making their focus towards something else.

Yes they are introducing crypto to people but how are they doing it?
According to the trailer, it looks like crypto is being used for money laundering and other crimes and the criminals are being tracked down by security agencies
It all feels like hidden propaganda, Perhaps make a vast majority of people who have never used crypto feel like it's a cesspool for criminal activities.
Totally disappointed in the movie...

wooooooww..it's really amazing. I am proud to know BTC. I think the big world actors must be involved in the film. I am sure the film will contribute positively to crypto growth in the future. the film can also explain to primitive people who do not know crypto.

My fear is that people will watch the movie and think they understand and know crypto and it all depends on which view the movie takes.

Personally, i dod hope to see a different movie at this time compared to what has been released by different groups|persons which was just a mere documentary about Bitcoin. Although the messages were of different opinions; some were on the positive side of the said Bitcoin while others capitalize on the negative side of Bitcoin. We hope the movie give the true meaning of Bitcoin and not to be bias, this time.

At this time people won't buy bitcoin just because they see it once again in some shitty movie.

And that is exactly the way they gonna show crypto in their movie.
No one will be curious to see how people are sending BTC transactions to each other, BTC rate is stable and everyone is happy. They need an action it will be made by compiling some of the existing negative cliche about cryptocurrencies.
It can't be a good movie by default.

While the movie will most definitely show the negative sides of bitcoin/crypto, the quote "All publicity is good publicity" will most likely still be in play here. While the criminals are the ones who will be using bitcoin/crypto in the movie, at least people would think bitcoin is still up and running in my opinion; as opposed to the "bitcoin is dead" like a lot of people are thinking due to the bear market.

It can't be a good movie by default.

For the masses? Probably not. It looks like a well-budgeted movie; but who knows. For us in the bitcoin/cyptocurrency space though? Definitely not.

Well budgeted? I really don't think so, really bad special effects in the trailer like for the tazer. I'd be surprised if the budget was over 5 million.

Well, I should've worded that more clearly. I didn't mean "well budgeted" compared to the higher end movies in general per se, but this is most likely(I think) more well-funded compared to all the other bitcoin/crypto movies/documentaries at least. Don't quote me on that though, I only came to that conclusion just because of Kurt Russell being in the cast and Frigerio being a writer.

telling the crime known as crypto, is not good for viewers who do not know the crypto truth which is very easy to use and the many benefits contained in crypto. the little film trailer tells sad crimes of murder scenes and that is very extreme in this business, film producers should make a positive flow for crypto

I don't think this will gain much attention. However, for the people who will watch this (who doesn't really know or have the knowledge about crypto) might see and think negatively about crypto because of the plot and how crypto is being used in the movie.
