This auction is for a coin from my collection, with all proceeds going to Zephers family. Payment will be to 3KiqJpTueWvupFgrAg4Beski1UK47pMP5e, an escrow wallet being held by Minerjones. Funds will be converted to Paypal and passed to Zephers mum (any none auction donations can also be sent here) The coin is a Casascius 1 BTC Error coin, 12NyPe5S https://casascius.uberbills.com/?address=12NyPe5SjG8spB2w1p3VJYBfX77XTRobenAs you can see from Uberbills, this coin was funded on the 7th of September 2011, the very first day that Casascius coins were funded. A special coin, you seldom see these for sale. Unpeeled, fully funded with 1BTC (+ forks) The coin is ANACS graded, MS65, reference 4904759. There is a mark on the brass side at the bottom of the BTC . http://www.anacs.com/Populations/CertVerification.aspx?cert=4904759It is ANACS imaged, right click on the images on the population report, and view image, to see higher res pics Starting bid is face value : 1 BTC Minimum bid increment : 0.01 BTC Auction end time : Sunday March 24th, 21:00 UTC (so ~6 day auction) Sniping : Shoot away hot shots Any bid made in last 10 mins will extend the auction 10 mins beyond the end time Any subsequent bids after an extension must be within 10 mins of the previous bid Each bid within 10 mins will extend the auction by 10 mins from the time of bid No bids within 10 mins, then we are done (So planned end at 21:00, next end at 21:10, subsequent ends +10 from previous bid, no bids for 10 ends) Payment : 3KiqJpTueWvupFgrAg4Beski1UK47pMP5e Shipping is included worldwide, and will be by UPS Its a while since I have put up a sales thread, so if I have missed anything out, shout up early please, and I will sort it while the auction is still in the early stages So please dig deep, help out Zephers family at the toughest of times, and also get yourself a piece of history RIP Zepher

I should also add ....
I may ask for proof of funds, if someone new is bidding (apologies, I want to do this auction just once). Newbies willing to prove funds are welcome to bid though

I generated this (warning! big file) some time ago. It shows that 70 coins were funded in the first funding transaction. Second transaction funded 60 coins, 4 blocks later. Third funding transaction (83 blocks later) funded 39 coins. And so on..

Otoh the whale grabs Krogos boat from underneath knocking the harpoon out of his Krogoth's hand, rips the high bid from the other hand and snaps the boat into smithereens! As Otoh the whale leaves with the prized high bid, as a weary tired Captain Krogo wading in water makes a fist and shouts angrily "" We shall meet again someday you pesky whale and things will be different!" Defeated Captain Krogo looks on as the whale swims away over the horizon out of reach...for now!

What makes this coin so special to me is it actually became one of the few first day funded physical bitcoins in existence.
Making it the FIRST PHYSICALLY LOADED BITCOIN COINS ever. I have been hunting one of these for years and to see it come to the light of day
is very rare. I was fortunate to buy some Cas coins on ebay and by doing my research found I owned a 2nd day loading Casascius coin.
The seller told me these coins were being handed out for free at a Bitcoin gathering or festival. All this to educate people on what bitcoin is.
He was not even aware of the importance of the funding date. That being said I wonder how many still exist in collections, lost or thrown away over time.
That same story happens in other collectables when items that were not deemed collectable were tossed away. Making them so much rarer later on.
To see one in auction and being sodl by Monkey for Zephers sake, is amazing. My hats off to you my friend.

I really loved this summarization and I also really have come to love this community. I'm new but man you guys really step up for each other. I didn't know Zeph but to see you all band together and continue to try and help his family out is just awesome beyond words. So I'm honored to be bidding for such a wonderful cause and a phenomenal coin no doubt. And who knows I might even get lucky and win. Either way it's all been such an enjoyable experience getting to know you all from this vantage point.

Thank you very much TY! I'm still learning as I go my friend(s). Infact when I submitted the edit I myself was like WTF why didn't the thread get bumped to the top?!???, then I just assumed an edit doesn't bump it but certainly time stamps it. Anyhow I'm only content to win this fair and square if I'm even in the running. I suspect the Seaworld squad is gonna come out swinging later today and Sunday. I've got my caramel popcorn, some BTCs and access to a favorite lady friend to console me incase I don't get there. Either way I'm swimming with my head up high here #orca style! Moby

Just in case, 1 more rule
Forum downtime: If the forum goes offline in the final hours of the auction I may extend the auction at my discretion
Hopefully it wont happen, but if it does, likelihood is that I would extend for 24 hours, obviously no down time, then the timings remain as per OP

Don't you need to place a bid first bud! Don't make me get all Liam Neeson. I can barely find my keys and phone these days.

If I was bidding on this, its gotta be really intimidating to place a bid against a guy that is posting his bids with pictures of fucking whales. Or you know, is a known whale.
I cannot wait to see what this finishes at

As Captain Krogoth waded in the water hodling onto shattered timbers of his boat, he looked around with dismay as his men struggled to stay afloat. I wonder what will become of us as he looked over in the vast horizon of endless blue sky. He sighed as this was not his first time encountering hese whales, but this was a formidable foe. Moral was very low at this point and Krogoth dispaired over his loss on a high bid...In his mind he could see the whale in the distance slowly dissapearing over the horizon and probably the last he will ever see of it and his precious high bid caught in its mighty jaw. But just as he had almost lost all signs of hope, he saw a sister whaling ship closing in to where he and his men were fins started wading. It arrived in the knick of time too as dorsal fins could be seen heading towards the group. Probably the sharks had caught the scent of btc in the water and were slowly but surely coming in for the last minute snipe meal. Once he and his men were safely on board, he turned to his fellow Captain Luck and told him his adventerous story and then asked that he would need to commandeer his ship to try and catch with the whale before it dived down in the depths...out of reach forever. Captain Luck agreed..he had heard stories of past battles that had been lost by so many other Captains. Thus Captain Krogoth started the hunt for the whale with the high bid.. Time was of the essence and was ticking away....Was he mad? The crew looked at their worn out captain...clothing tattered...his face worn out in this hunt of hunts...why oh God would he go against such a mighty formidable leviation knowing the chances of him succeeding were slim...very slim. Yet they understood too...madness had started to creep in and an obsession with this Cas prize to be obtained at all costs..including risking their lives for the hunt of such a bounty! But arent we al foolish mortals at the end of the day? How can one logically fathom what drives a man into such madness!! Was not Troy attacked in pursuit of the lovely Helen..for 10 years they battled for one lady...how many lives have been lost in the attempted conquest of Everest? Aye, I do believe the coin makes people crazy too..all in attempt of such a prize! Yet the glint in his eyes could be seen by all the shipmates..nothing would stop him in his quest. For days they travelled on the rough seas...it took a few days to finally catch up to the almighty whale. Following a trail of birds he came upon a site where two whales battling away at the great prize. Blood was in the water...dorsal fins of all sizes circled waiting for there chance to dig in this bounty...but yet it seemed none dared attack such was the size of the beasts. Many had in the past but were estroyed by the monstrous size of the tails. They could somehow sense the battle had just gotten started. There would be casualties and then they would finish off any survivors. Captain Krogoth was calm....and harpoon at the ready...harpoon at the ready. His last ecounter with this almighty beast still ran thru his weary mind..Oh such a hunt he has been on for all these years and it all comes down to this. He could sense the tension in the air and also felt the adrenaline rush thru his old veins. Such a moment ignited the passion for the hunt that had brought him to sea so many moons ago. As a young lad he had heard the stories of this beast..almighty beast who had ruined many a hunt. Today would be different...today the almighty would deliver him the prize from this legendary foe! Krogoth waited for the right oppurtunity and as soon as he had him in his site he threw his bidding harpoon and managed to grab onto the high bid as the whales furiously trashed around and turned to come back to reclaim it. But oh what a battle ensued...nonethless Krogo held on to the almighty prize as the whale carcasses floated in the rough blood red sea! Ahh matey..what a battle it twas..weary krogoth drenched in whale blood just lays down exhausted and smiles.

Truly emotional. I’ve watched this all week and all the other threads about Zepher and been truly humbled ! What an amazing community. From what I’ve learned from the last few weeks in “Collectibles “ he must have been a true friend. Condolencies to Zepher’s family and to all of you in this community. As I say ,humbled.

Monkeynuts... You're a great person with a heart as big as this planet from what I can tell. For those of us that believes in karma I'd like to shine light on this very thread as a small example of how incredible humanity can be at times. Thank you again for doing this and I wish you nothing but happiness and health in your lifetime! iBHK8

You should delete your post and do as you said you plan to. First it's generally pointless to post in anothers thread hawking your wares; worse if it's still ongoing. In this case it seems extra tastelss this thread served as a donation to a grieving family, by friends who lost someone. Please respect that and move along.

Is there anyone here be interest in Graded 2011 Casascius Series 2 physical bitcoins? I have a few that are 2011 Series II (non error). If interested let me know. I will be posting on a new thread. Thanks I have graded ones from MS-63 to MS-69 (I am the owner 1 of 3 graded MS69 so far that have been submitted for grading...3 in existence according to ANACS history so far) https://www.anacs.com/Verify/CertVerification.aspxOpen to offers Thanks JamesNoJosh Hi James, Don't be so sound rude but this isn't the thread for this message. Please just post it under the usual collectibles forum and I'm sure you'll have plenty of interest and hopefully you get everything you're looking for. However this isn't the thread to bump to sell your items with all due respect. All the best! May Zeph RIP! iBHK8
