Damn. And Japan servers, too. The website is indeed from way back. Here are some old snapshots I've found:

January 31, 2005: https://web.archive.org/web/20050131112206/http://www.satoshin.com/
February 7, 2005: https://web.archive.org/web/20050207055636/http://www.satoshin.com/

Here's a December 7, 2004 snapshot that doesn't look like the current look of the webpage(default page perhaps?): https://web.archive.org/web/20041207201954/http://www.satoshin.com/

Interesting as hell. How did you find that URL?

I just searched google for "satoshin" in the time before 2007.
I'm sure I'm not the first one ending on this website.

Thanks for the archives.. they look interesting.

It seems that Satoshi is not only one person, it looks like a team or a group.
As you can see from this part "IP Location   Japan - Tokyo - Tokyo - Gmo Pepabo Inc." we can think that this team is living on japan.

So why other people pretending as satoshi nakamoto in other country?

Anyway, good spot. Now I'm getting idea that satoshi is living only in Japan.

I'm not sure that this has real relations to the creator(s) of bitcoin, but looks like there is a tiny chance to be his/their website.

*snip*

We really don't know that though. While there's definitely a good chance that "Satoshi Nakamoto" is a team instead of an individual, it could also possible just one person.

Anyway, the chance of this URL actually being affiliated with SN is very small like iasenko said. If anything, I'm pretty sure SN is pretty good at covering his tracks; hence why SN is still anonymous as of today. This would be an amateur move of him if we finally unveiled him/her/them just because of that domain.

Well he/she/them did seem to have a personal email that had the name of “satoshin” (see satoshin@gmx.com is compromised) …

There’s also a Japanese picture-book author called satoshin: http://www.booksfromjapan.jp/authors/item/3124-satoshin.

Am I missing summat here? Satoshi is a common enough Japanese name. "sato shin" and 'shin sato' throws up lots of creepy results too. I can't ever see Satoshi being the type to have a website named after him/her/itself.

Yes it's a common name there like Smith or Jhonson in the USA.

That's right, no doubt about that, but iasenko is just have fun with this finding and does not bring it to a direct link with Satoshi Nakamoto. There are more or less well-known people who have a name Satoshi, and probably some parents give the names to their children by Satoshi.

Yeah, I wouldn't read too much in to it. As pointed out it's not that uncommon a name. There is even a Japanese interior design company called "Satoshin", which registered their website in 2000: http://www.satoshin.co.jp/

Interesting that this site (satoshin.co.jp) also uses (C) at the bottom instead of the copyright symbol ©, just the same as the satoshin.com. It could simply be a parked domain for a potential international business expansion that never happened.

趣味 - means Hobby. I know satoshi's  name is common, but this fact does not making it less fun to dig in the old archives Wink
