depends on how much money you alocate, if i have lest than 5000$ i will put in ETH and TRX or VERG, or anything in top 50 and hold for long. but if you have more than 10000$, u can play in BTC and also top 10 in cmc, or invest 80% then play for short time the rest. you can see other advice for make you sure for your decision  I agree, when large sums of money go into investing, it is better to invest in the Top 10 cryptocurrencies, that is, in the most liquid coins. I have 80% of the cryptoactives from the Top 10 market. |

Many recommend investing in a BNB, saying that it will continue to grow in value and grow to at least $ 50. There are a lot of altcoins that you can invest in and are very promising, just check coinmarketcap. But I personally feel now is not the best time to invest in any altcoins because the market is presently seeing an upward trend or growth which means the prices of most altcoins have increase over that period, so investing in them now cannot give you the best possible ROI (return on investment). So I would recommend you HODL it your money in a stable coin and use it to buy the altcoins you want when the market hits in bottom.

Looking at the coinmarketcap.com, you can see that ETH is just below one coin. And in the OP you wanted to look for a coin that is belonged to top 10 and is better than ethereum. Well, there is only one coin for that, it's bitcoin.

So you are thinking of investing 50% in Bitcoin? Then why did you say "altcoin"? I suggest you stick with the bitcoin only, but still, if you want, check out the IOST project, already main net launched, over a million account under 2 months. IOST team never stopped the development yet. |

Bitcoin as usual would be the best coin to invest with our hard earned money. But in the title of this thread. It says, ' a couple alts'.. And he already have 50% ETH which is already a good choice along with 50% BTC. |

It looks like the best altcoins to invest in at the moment is BNB, Binance coin. Binance is right now the leading exchange, this is the exchange other exchanges are trying to copy. I think BNB has a good chance to be the first of the top coins that reach its old all-time high.
Now almost many stock tokens are growing well , I would have to bnb would take ht token it is also growing well and clearly waiting for a great future |

I want to recommend investing in BNB and Cardano. the two coins will not disappoint you, you can see that people don't believe in BNB coins, but recently the coins showed good electability if for investment and for Cardano they have sophisticated technology for the future and an active team in developing these coins for the better.

Your decision is right and wise. Ethereum and bitcoin are the coins that will not be wiped out from the market even other coins die. I think these coins are genuine digital coins. To prove their worth, many organisations and countries have started accepting payment in ethereum and bitcoin. Likewise, most of altcoins are working on the networks of ethereum and bitcoin. I only invest in a few coins. And I think that is no longer necessary. In general, I invest half in Bitcoin and share half between Ethereum, Litecoin and Dash.

The best choice right now is BNB Coin. Current price at $21.78 and i think the price could reach new highest price. BNB Coin will mainnet at april 23th and several token will move to BNB chain. It could be competitor for EOS and ETH in the future |

Take a look at Coinmarketcap: https://coinmarketcap.com/Top 5 should be the ones you are looking for. In case you are looking for other alt coins take a look out for their Volume within 24 hours and Circulating Supply (if there is a big demand). That will make those ALTs HOT as potential profitable ones. |

I think your decision is already correct and right. Correct in such a way that you invest in a coins that has the potential of being good coin and has the good potential for long term investments. Right time to buy those two coins since it would increase at any time.

I think you have the right choice with your investment mate. Ethereum is one of the great Altcoins on the market due to strong community and developers next to Bitcoin. There are also good coins to invest like Dash, Litecoin and other top coins on coinmarketcap. Ethereum is best but if you are looking for cheaper one's I highly recommend you to make your own due diligence for a much safer and secure holdings. |

I think it depends on how much you invest, if it is more than $ 5,000, you can split the investment amount into 4 parts. Provided you don't need that money and keep your investment for a few years |

Sooner or later, ETH will not be the best altcoin in the market. There are those altcoins that has fixed market volume, and ETH hasn't, basically they have an infinite volume and that will going to be their weakness. One of the best altcoin in the market is the one who has the same characteristic with bitcoin, those that have a fixed market volume. |
