Shall I reconsider my tag?

I tagged the user DIMCOIN for the scam accusation thread created against them here.

Open scam accusations. Please response to the scam accusation topic. Feedback will be changed once the issue get resolved or the feedback stay.

Then I realized may be I was too quick to tag him. I never seen any other DTs to react in the topic.


I am very new to DT network. I understand it's a volantery responsibility and I would not want to misuse it. I would not like anyone fell hurt because of my wrong justification.

When you think the user involved in scam or shady activity then it is okay to tag them,no need to follow others just be yourself on giving feedback that is what DT should work.

Hello mate, I have read the thread, the response from DIMCOIN as well. Your tag should be remained as it is since DIMCOIN didn't response in a proper way which would talk for him.

The user DIMCOIN still fine with the negative feedback that you give, although he has been know the case. As above comment, maybe you can change it to neutral if the issue has resolved.

I think this is appropriate in most cases, i.e., to leave a neg when a scam accusation thread is started by someone and it appears to have enough evidence to support it.  I wouldn't leave a neg simply because someone started a thread. 

DT members in general are not consistent in tagging people based on scam accusation threads, and there are probably many reasons for that.  OP, if you see one that hits home, feel free to tag someone even if no one else has.  If you were in error, it will sort itself out eventually.  The person who got tagged will most likely make a fuss, which will bring other DT members' attention on the situation and you'll get feedback.  That's what's happened before in at least two cases that I can think of where I gave the only neg to someone.

It's also good that you're soliciting help from the community, and in time your confidence in your judgement will become stronger.

In this particular case, it seems justifiable to me, and if the member's response to you wasn't convincing, you should keep the tag on him.

First suggestion is, you should not tag someone if you can't stand strongly against him/her. You can't be a good person to all forum members. Once you will tag someone obviously he will hurt. It doesn't mean you have to avoid tagging.

I believe your feedback was appropriate to invite him/her to discuss on the thread. Yes, others DT members did not tag him but it doesn't mean your feedback is wrong. I can see still reference thread isn't solve. So I don't see any point to reconsider your feedback's. You should not wait for OP when he/she will marked thread. Accuser always will not right, some case accused could provide appropriate answer. You have to judge them who is right. Then you could take final decision.

On the other hand if you are wrong then obviously accused will try to defend and he will try to get attention from more DT. Then others also could give solution and suggestion although no one can force you. And obviously you can open thread about some complicated case in order to get help from others DT.  

Consultation: Feedback should remain until accused provide appropriate answer according to you. If you are not convinced then just leave it.

I see no reason to reconsider the neg feedback Pamoldar. You’re doing a fine job by the way, you don’t need any other DT members approval to tag somebody. It’s about protecting the community & if your one tag stops somebody getting scammed in the future then it was well worth it.

First suggestion is, you should not tag someone if you can't stand strongly against him/her.

I disagree to this statement, when there is an open scam accusation against someone even with semi-good evidence, that user should be  tagged instantly, so that if the scam accusation is valid, other members don't get scammed.

however after having tagged someone then you should be willing to spend time and effort into following up with the case, see how things go and be open to removing/changing feedback as more proofs begin to show up.

I have tagged the accused user too, they have personally acknowledged that there is a problem that remains unsolved, will see how it goes from here and react accordingly.

It's totally fine to tag users if the scam accusation is detailed enough with valid references. The tag is not gonna be permanent anyway and the accused is more likely to respond soon if they take their profile seriously. This also depends on how established the forum member is. Like if some newbie came up with an accusation against The Pharmacist or Lauda, it's pointless to tag them without hearing their side of the story because they have a long enough reputation to scam someone.

I strongly agree on what @mikeywith says, if you have a doubt the red tag is justified and it can be changed after the explanation from him, to avoid more potential scams.

If he doesn't provide explanations it means that you are right since he doesn't care about his reputation.

Keep in mind a RED tag can be always changed to neutral, a scam can't be refunded.

Edit, I'm very busy these weeks and I can't read the situation but I can see that one DT already tagged him.

This is pretty much almost always irrelevant unless there are DTs involved in the thread and/or there is objective evidence that shows that your tag is unwarranted.

Thank you everyone who gave the inputs so far. It was nice to see some good forum members' input too. In my mind, I do not want to hurt anyone (whit a wrong judgement) and again I do not want to see anyone get scammed as well. It seems very hard job to do however I am trying my best to learn and act.

Thank you again and I think the topic should be locked. I already found that I was looking for. 🙂
