Sometimes when my posts get deleted i get a PM about the post...

Quote
A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted.

But the weird thing is when my post count goes down and i don't get any message, so, Why that happen? I'm thinking i only receive the message when i start the thread, but i'm not sure how it works. can someone explain it?

If the mod delete a thread and if you have comments on that thread then you do not get any notification.

Cheers :-)

Exactly when only your Post gets deleted your Post count goes down, but when a thread gets deleted it dosnt!
My Suggestion to theymos maybe change this, so if a spam thread gets deleted all users Post count goes down as well and possible Accounts from some Account farms get it harder to grow up there Post activity!
Just an idea!

But I thought it's the opposite that actually happens. Post count goes down once a thread gets deleted.
I have been experiencing this for a while.
During that particular time I don't receive any message of my posts being deleted for being off topic or something.

Post count will get decreased when your comment deleted or a spam thread deleted, but only thing is we don't receive any notification when thread gets deleted.

For sure, you forgot to read this:

Off-topic replies have become a big problem. From now on, I will be deleting such replies without notice, forum-wide. If your replies disappear, this is probably why.

All replies must respond to the topic's original post in some way, even if they are replying to an on-topic reply. If your reply has nothing to do with the topic post, either add some content that is relevant or create a new topic.

Please report off-topic posts as soon as you see them.
Reason, if you don't get a message or PM Forum, your post that is deleted is, your discussion topic, global. If your own post is deleted, you will get a PM or message.

Well, if your own post is deleted also doesn't get a message or PM, you have to PM mod, what is the reason deleted. Maybe there is something else for Forum security.

Here are the scenarios.

You post in a thread you did not create, months later the thread is deleted.                            Your post count goes down, you receive no message.
You post in a thread, your post is deleted.                                                                            Your post count goes down, you receive a message in your inbox.
You post in a self-moderated thread, the OP deletes your post.                                              Your post count goes down, you receive no a message in your inbox.

You create the topic and it gets trashed.

I'm not positive, but I believe Your post count will go down, and you will receive a message. If you had other posts in the topic they would also reduce the post count but would not receive a message.

Edit:
You do receive a message for a self-mod delete.

Thanks for that, I guess it's been a while.

This explains it all, thanks for the answers guys, now i have it more clear and even i agree with how the forum manage this topic because another way the forum should be sending thousands of PM each day for all those deleted threads...

But I thought it's the opposite that actually happens. Post count goes down once a thread gets deleted.
Either way the post count goes down when deleted the difference is that you don't get the notification.

Cmiiw sometimes a thread could be blocked or moved (to the trashcan) by the mods that's why the post count won't always go down.

For the OP I think you might be worried about your post requirement for the signature campaign, that is why you are keeping track of your post count. But I don't think you need to worry about it at all since some campaign managers are aware that threads are getting deleted that is why they count posts by date not by post count. Just take a look at what Yahoo said in our campaign when a member thought he was short for the week.

Dear Yahoo...
I just see only 3 people got qualified for last round of this campaign (as last week mods deleted massive amount of old posts).

Kindly check the posts made in last 7 days.. For the period of 9th Mar to 15th Mar, I have made 32 posts...

Thank you.
You people really need to relax. If a campaign manager is doing their job correctly, they will manually count posts like I do. I open every single persons profile every single week and look at what a user has done for the current week. I'm not worried about past weeks. If you have 25 qualifying posts for the current week you are good to go. Now if posts for the current week are deleted that's on you. You should pay attention to your post counts and always do a few extra posts each week

Once I moved a topic from B&H board to the Serious Discussion Board.
Unfortunately , this movement cause all newbies post deleted from that thread. I do not think that forum had sent the notification to the newbies for their deleted post.

By right, if the min is at 30, the posters shouldn't stop at a few digits after 30 if they want to stay safe. Plus, I don't reckon it's the CM's responsibility to check since they have other users to check too.
