Hey,

I'm going to be doing a raffle for my Ledger Nano S, just for fun. I forgot the password, so the device has been wiped.

  • Make sure that the device is verified to be authentic in the Ledger Live app.
  • Make sure you set your own pin and seed words!

I will keep 8 spots open for the raffle.

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.

The cost of one spot is 0.003 BTC (3000 bits). Once all spots are filled, I will pick a block hash from a future block to decide the winner in a provably fair manner, and I will send you the Ledger (after you pay for shipping). If all 8 spots are not filled after, say, 2 weeks, I will fill up the rest of the slots and then do the provably fair draw.

Good luck!

Edit: I have increased the cost of one spot from 2500 bits to 3000 bits. The winner will not have to pay for the shipping; I will pay for shipping anywhere in the world (registered mail, of course).

I like gambling. Probably currently trying to figure out how to pay next month's rent.

Every hack/vulnerability that has been discovered with Ledger/Trezor/Keepkey wallets has required somebody other than yourself to have come into contact with the device. Buying direct from the manufacturer is the only way to ensure your bitcoin/shitcoins are safe.
Sorry but something like this you need to just keep as a souvenier/paper weight or throw it away. Don't even give somebody the chance of accusing you of having modified the Nano S and have to fight that sort of battle.

Thanks, that's a good point. Even if I know I haven't done anything to it, there's nothing to stop people from making false accusations. I appreciate the advice; the raffle is now closed. Locking the thread.
