Today I was monitoring "BitBlender Signature Campaign" thread for signature space. then I noticed someone posted ( Member rank with 97 merits) that he-she needed spreadsheet's link. so i posted a spreadsheet link on the thread. after a couple of minutes, user profile changed from Member to Full member.

Out of genuine curiosity, I clicked on the user profile and saw his-her merit report and found out that he-she received merit for the Bounty Ann thread, which is completely fine. Then I noticed next post on the same thread. Lassie received 50 merits from the same User in same thread a few months back. (Looks shady)

Merit reciever: Lassie : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1202244

Sender: zupdawg : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=815389 ( Already marked Red for ICO bumping)

Last time Sender was online during Jan-feb 2019 and today he-she came online just to give Lassie 5 merits on thread which was posted in May 2018. (Now Member-to Full member)

I am aware of that its not a solid proof but its not a coincidence as well. I already notified the Bounty manager in this regard but as of now i failed to find any hard evidence that both accounts belong to the same person, that's why I am posting here so that best users (detective) can have a look at this case.

Note : Lassie is saving all his s-merits as of now (which is fine but you guys can guess what's that means).  he-she only spent his-her merit one time and guess what receiver was the same user "zupdawg"

There is no connection of any common crypto address or social media account between Lassie and zupdawg.

I have seen another case of such merit transaction were a bounty manger experienced some unknown merit transactions and he thought it could be an abuse later.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5116827.0

I dont think there is any evidence of merit abuse here too and as Lassie is also a bounty manager and Bounty thread launcher, he could get some unknown merit transactions.

So Its safe to say that Bounty Managers got upper hand in that regard because they know almost all loopholes and they can come clean in the same scenario easily?

But it looks clear to me that Lassie and zupdawg know each other because they sent merit on each other's Ann thread, so unknown merit transaction shouldn't be an excuse here.

@Lassie is a participant in the BTC campaign so there must be some game going on between them otherwise why would @zupdawg coming online after 2 months and the first thing he did was, finding @Lassie's old Ann thread and then sending merit to the same thread again.

Now that would be interesting to see if @Lassie sends his-her all merits to a new account in the next couple of months or year Cheesy

Although I agree it looks suspicious, I'd say this is one of those things theymos said not to lose any sleep over. There is obviously going to be some Merit abuse, but in the long run it's a small amount. Most spammers can't rank up anymore.

Yes, I agree this looks like an merit abuse for sure as no one would just wake up to merit an ANN thread after such a long time.

But we cannot pass a judgement as we have very little proofs of the abuse happening. As I said we need some connections between both the accounts to get to a conclusion other wise this would just end up with nothing.
