You should only just choose those altcoins that are in the top 10 because they acquire lesser amount of risk. Yes, you could not earn a lot here, but it is guaranteed that you cam earn 2-20% of your investment in time.

It depends on the form of investment that you are opting for, when it comes to long term trading, sure, price and popularity will play their own role too but the best way to go about the investment is to choose your investment based on the quality of the project.

If you invested in a project that will crash overtime irrespective of the price or its popularity, you will end up losing your investment in the long run but if you are going in for a short term trading, it is fine to use the project price and popularity to make your decision and when it comes to price, you have to buy when the price is at dip and not peak so you can sell high when it has attain the price you desire to sell it.

I choose altcoins in the market that has a high volume and and active team members by giving updates to their community here in this business.

Well, based on current conditions, i will invest if the altcoin had good fundamental (Working application, Feasible Business operation)
I will normally evade those ICO which is way too fancy like p2p car sharing blockchain. Not saying that they can't succeed, but its hard and risky
