Can I express my opinion in opposite side? 
Merit source applications are always good, because, to be qualifying enough to made application and got attention, consideration from  @theymos, applicants have to choose ten high quality topics.
So, they have to spend time, to find, collect, and present them into their applications.
Is it good or bad?
It is obviously good, because some of those topics have not listed or mentioned in any list before they collected and presented in merit source applicatioins.
No matter result of application is, got accepted or rejected, it is only good for community.
One more thing, spammers should and could not apply to be a merit source. Maybe I missed something, but I have never seen spammers applied to be merit sources. 
Consequently, each batch of ten-chosen-topics in Merit Source Applications are usually good topics.

As r1s2g3 said, Theymos could be considering for more options or you and tk808 both could get a chance.

Then I'll give it a try to see how it plays out hopefully he'll find me worthy, maybe we could co-be merit sources for the board. Only wish theymos could drop a DM to applicates so those who aren't qualified can give up hope and continue their normal activities on the forum. (Don't want to be keeping tab on the meta board always).

It took me 3 months of daily bumps before I was made Merit source. I only got a PM when it was done.

Don't think I'll go with daily bumping since that might give the impression of my desperation of being a merit source I'll consider weekly update with statistics of merit sent to the board. Hopefully that'll get his attention.

Keep doing the things what you are doing now,you can merit from your pocket if you have some to spend, soon you will be considered when theymos want to add new merit sources.

I think you can be almost certain theymos has seen your application. He is obviously very active around the forum, even if not posting that often. I think a weekly bump as a reminder and an indication that you are still interested is more than adequate.

I use an Android phone so I make use of chrome browser which automatically converts most local languages to english (at least gives me an idea what OP is trying to say). When I don't find any useful english post, I do visit local boards just to see how things are going over there and sometimes show appreciation through merits. If you check again (my sent merit history), the German board isn't the only local board I have merited posts from. If I can remember clearly that post was answering a question and wasn't a spam that's why I merited it.

It will surely be a good decision to make the OP a merit source seeing his immense contributions to the forum and for the fact that he visits almost all the boards, commenting and seeking to help others. Theymos, kindly do this.
