Sometimes, we use history to forecast what will happen in the future. Back in 2015, one YouTuber predicted correctly that bitcoin will see a bull market in 2017, a prophecy that came to pass.

On October 12, 2015, YouTuber Contrarian Dude, officially posted a video dubbed “Bitcoin Prediction: June 2016 will begin the next big bubble. Massive profits await Bitcoiners”, saying that the flagship crypto will see a bull market soon. From the market charts, this prediction has not been too far off Contrarian Dude’s forecast.

Um, dude. That's not a prediction, that's a pretty solid expectation. It's called 10-minute block times, hard coded so it's quite, quite reliable. Could even probably pinpoint it to the day at this stage.

So you could say, Bitcoin Halving Expected by 2020, Prediction from 2009 says. Pretty sure this forum alone has plenty of 2020 halving discussions predating 2015.

Lols, I think this is the first genuine article they haven't copied from another source.
And being a first, they made a complete mess out of everything, title, content, data, numbers.

What the journalist wanted to say is that there is a prediction which says we are going to see a bull run in 2020 by the next halving.

Instead, he made a mess and predicted something like the next US presidential election happening in 2020

Sometimes, we use history to forecast what will happen in the future.

But in the case of bitcoin we should not look to the past in order to predict the future price and I did not see anything useful in this news, the guy did what all so-called experts do and he was lucky.

Recently, Filb Filb, a crypto analyst, produced a chart on Tradingview which disclosed astounding pre-halving similarities between the year 2015 to 2019.

I wonder how long people will be obsessed by these similarities of the past with the present
