You also have to choose for mining only those coins that have been recently launched.
With the remaining points I agree(understand why they need it) but with this - no clue. Why choose for mining coins that have been recently launched? Tell me more.

Because at the beginning of the miners are still few, so the hash rate and the difficulty is less.
When more people learn about the coin, it will become unprofitable for mining on laptops.

There may be a situation that the new coin will sink into oblivion. Then all my mining will be useless.

Mining with laptops is not the best of ideas as you would not be generating anything substantial. Remember you have mining farms all over the world to compete with and all you got is a laptop. Don't waste your time brother you better get into staking some coins or run  a masternode because with those all that matters is to get the required collateral coins needed to run a masternode. o

If you do have enough funds its far better to buy masternode coins and take a risk, than trying to mine inside your laptops where every profits if there's profits will be going alone paying your electricity bills, and also laptop is not designed to do heavy works where you will let it mine for some weeks surely it will give up in mush earlier time.

For mining cryptocurrencies i would not advise you to do so but if you are into running nodes on any network then you can go right ahead as you would not be competing to earn your passive income from the running masternode. mining with laptops would surely earn you close to nothing hehehe

Your old laptop would be much more useful helping the network of your preferred coin by running a node of it (with its P2P port opened). Mining anything with it just wouldn't bring any benefit.

You can also buy a coin that will sink into oblivion. You can buy ICO tokens that will lose the price to zero. Crypto is risky. Mining coins without risk requires an ASIC or GPU, but not a laptop.

From my experience, even gaming laptops are very much inferior to stationary solutions of past generations.
And yes all because laptops going in thin case and it is very difficult to make normal ventilation for a powerful configuration.

mining with cpu is useless. you should buy stakable coins and make money by running node, aura for example requires 10k to stake and can earn like 5+ usd, over long term price of aura will appreciate so will your earnings.

Whatever kind of your laptop and mine through use personal computor or even laptop is not a recomended way. Remember there was a lot of problems in the gaming laptops and mine crypto can make that laptop gets burned in the future.
Remember mining is not about how can you get aily income.

The question was different, so let's not exaggerate. When buying coins, I am guided by other priorities. As for mining - here I am a layman and wanted to hear the advice of knowledgeable people. Thank you that prompted and gave the direction where to move on.

Why do you want to waste your laptop hardware in mining cryptocurrency? You will just end up destroying your laptop hardware. If you are serious of joining the mining ecosystem, its advisable to build a pc specifically for mining and stop thinking of using your laptop.

If you're not using them, sell them instead of spending more electricity from mining. It may also end up dead after a few months of mining anyway. Use the proceeds from selling to buy some good coins then trade if you wish.

In addition to the spec of your laptop's and the amount you will spend in energy, you will only end up in loss. Discard the idea of mining with  laptop and go for an efficient mining rig it will pay off.

As per my knowledge and investigating now a days mining through CPU is just wasting your time and electricity and you will never get the profit, i will suggest smartphone mining please do search for it as it is very cheap and no complications or issues during mining.

I do not know any coins for mining on phones, which would really give a profit. If you mean Electronium, it's not real mining, even their website says. Can be could you tell me what this coins?

Hello,

I have two laptops with good specs eating dust. I thought to set them to work as nodes or miners or something like that. See if it's worthwhile.

The specs of my best laptop are i7, 16 GB RAM, 1.xx GHz, Windows 10. The other is a 4GB RAM laptop. I think it's i5, but I don't know the exact specs from the top of my head.

I'm a newbie in staking and mining and I don't want to install Ubuntu or Linux. I'm not an IT guy.

It can be leading or non-leading coins. That doesn't matter.

Does anyone have tips and suggestions about where to start and what to mine?

Thanks in advance.

For those interested in mining, there are good coins out there that you can mine though this depneds a lot on the configuration of your PC and the source of energy. For me I'll go with Veil as it's a good token and project with different means of earning. You can give it a trial and see how it goes. It works with most of the mining softwares, pools and explorers. Phone mining does not work with this project. I don't trust phone mining as you only get peanuts.

Shocked Leave your laptop alone. Why kill your laptop, it is not profitable. When mineengi allocated a large temperature that will destroy all the inside of your laptop. Even farms do not withstand the load, and you want to mine on a laptop.

Mining with laptops was way back in in 2009 when the cryptocurrencies was first introduced into the world and there were not many enough miners. At this point in time mining with a laptop would not earn you anything and you would rather incur loss due to the constant use of electricity.

I would encourage you to run nodes or better still join a mining pool but becareful you don't get scammed because there are a number of mining pool that do not payout as promised.

You can, but you will not get big profits.
Use pools in not very popular coins you can recoup your equipment. But again, I'd rather have bought something stationary that was made specifically for this.
