i have been making researches and reading PDFs on how to be a good speculator but this is my first time of trying to buy any coin. any advice on the coin i should buy or recommendation ?. thanks to you all.

You will need to learn how to make analysis for yourself if you want to progress and make good profit in crypto. Study low and undervalued coin and  buy into it and keep for a long term till when they pump. You can purchase up to 5 of those coin with 500$

Just a suggestion from my side, don't take it bad or anything (I know many people are just here for "getting rich quick"):
Instead of reading books about "how to be a good speculator" I would suggest reading the whitepapers, websites and ANN-threads of coins or projects you find interesting. Of course you can make money simply by speculating if you are lucky, but you will get further (in terms of self-development and eventually also financially) by actually researching the technology and communities behind projects.

Can you post the link to PDFs and the articles you read about how to speculate on a project, for me it makes no sense speculating on a coin, why no trade using technical analysis, most people that speculate in this space lose their money and I don't think that is what you are looking for

maybe you can replace with ADA, trx or Zilliqa

if you find a good altcoins to invest now, i think you can go to coinmarketcap and look at the TOP 50 coins there my friend
remember do not put your eggs in one basket, so split your capital mate
i'm sure the TOP 50 coins at coinmarketcap have a bright future

Becoming a good trader entails a lot of learning and practicing in other to gain experience. You have to spend time in searching for quality information on how to buy coins at the right time as this is the most important knowledge you need to have if you must become a profitable trader or investors. Many people said "speculations is a way to lose money" but I disagree with this idea and believe that speculating, experience, practicing and knowledge are the tools you need to become wealthy through investing and trading. Currently, I am focusing on coins like stellar, ADA,  neo and waves for investing as I strongly believe and think that these coins are going to do well in the future.
