I ran an I stallation of alpine and installed it on my hard drive. I can't seem to work out how to initialise apk. I found a page on the wiki but every time I tried it I ran into a now apkindex error so I think I have a big issue with pebkac, can anyone help me?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I think you have problems with your default DNS servers.

Here is a solution for that, both temporary and permanent: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/441664/alpine-linux-sometimes-dns-is-not-resolved
