There are a lot of scammers across different forums that use PayPal to pay for physical or digital goods, and then makes a cashback, leaving the seller with nothing; hence why people refuse to accept PayPal payments from untrusted people.

If you want to transact here, since you're in a Bitcoin forum anyway, get some bitcoin and use it as payment.

PayPal transactions are reversible that's why the escrow you contacted rejected your request. However, you can buy bitcoin with PayPal through  different websites. I've used virwox before and it's already a long time since I've used them.

But upon looking at their dashboard, they are still offering it. And when you are done buying bitcoin there, you can now ask the escrow to do the deal for you since you have bitcoin already.

Thanks for the correction, it's typo.

PayPal transactions are irreversible [...]
It's not? Many people scam others by charging back/contesting a transaction. There is literally a pinned thread by theymos on the Currency exchange that is called Beware of PayPal and other reversible transfer services.

Money sent through PayPal and any other money transfer service that accepts credit cards can be easily reversed by the sender, even after several weeks. Therefore, you should only accept PayPal in trades with people you trust very highly.

This is why newbies are not likely to sell their PayPal USD for bitcoins successfully.

Using VirWox also incurs a lot of fees because you're buying SLL and then converting the SLL to BTC and then paying for withdrawal fees as well AFAIK. The site also only takes payments from Sofortbanking and Skrill at the moment, as they've disabled PayPal Express Checkout deposits and straight credit card deposits. You could try converting your PayPal funds for Bitcoin on a site like Paxful, though the exchange rate there will be subpar as well since PayPal's risky for the person on the receiving end; you're best off just not using PayPal to buy BTC in the end.

Acquire some bitcoins through a cryptocurrency exchange, or through a Bitcoin ATM, and use that to buy whatever you're looking for. The risk is just way too high to accept PP, especially from a Newbie with no reputation, if you do actually manage to find anyone willing accept payment via PP from you, it's probably going to be another Newbie.

I haven't accepted PayPal for many years, in fact I even registered the name PreyPal.com, because i consider Pay Pal itself to be a scamming organisation. Any payment you receive is just a six months loan in reality, and they can reclaim it from you if their profits are low, or if a scammer used it a couple of transaction before yours.

If you want to buy something with PayPal, you're in wrong place. It's Bitcoin forum and deals are made here using cryptocurrencies.
Escrow simply can't take such risk. PayPal is reversible payment method and you're new member here without any reputation. It's two red flags that you may make chargeback, PayPal is often used by scammers on marketplaces.
I suggest you to aquire some BTC and contact escrow providers then if you want to buy something here.

Majority of payments on ebay and amazon are done with reversible methods, that is just how normal business operates.  Most customers are honest people that aren't looking to scam but this forum has a larger amount of nigerian scammers than usual.

If you want to be in business for real, you have to accept reversible methods like credit cards if you want to actually attract a large amount of customers.

I would say be cautious about this as well. There are plenty of scams where there are no goods and your coins disappear.

OP, It's not clear if you offered to pay with BTC when you approached escrow, or if you wanted to use PP with escrow - that will never happen. WTB Hetzner Cloud Accounts is this the goods you are trying to buy? If you give us more details people might be able to provide you with a course of action.

A lot of online payments in my country go through payment processors via a payment gateway where the buyer logs into his bank account giving an authorization to a specific transfer, or debit cards are used where it's harder to commit chargeback fraud. I think it's mostly Americans who use credit cards day to day, in Europe they aren't as common.

It's also easier for a larger online store to swallow a loss from chargeback fraud, as opposed to a random person who sells a Casascius coin on eBay later to find out the buyer makes up a story and essentially gets a coin worth thousands for free.

So if op will buy the good from the seller and pay the seller using PayPal to send the op's payments then the person who is in great risk of getting scam is the seller because the payment is reversible where the sender can be reverse and the sender can take back the money that the sender sent. I have read the thread that theymos created on 2011 then the thread is edited on 2013 stated that you should only use PayPal as your payment method to a person who you trust and trusted you back or when you send money to your family or love ones. I agree that op should buy bitcoin first before buying the seller's good for bitcoin with escrow.

@OP: Did you already see the picture of the good you wanted to buy?. Anyway, the seller won't be able to take your bitcoin if the good that you received is not the same as the description said that is why you should use escrow when selling or buying goods online.
