Just tinkering with Ethereum...

I have two MSI 1050ti. Windows 7 x64.

My first motherboard was an ECS MCP73VT-PM, n610i chipset. It had 1 x16 slot and 1 x1 slot. Both cards worked in either slot (directly on the board or with x1 risers), but not both slots at the same time. If both were plugged in, only the card in the x1 slot showed in device manager.

My current motherboard is an ASUS P5E, X38 chipset. It has 2 x16 slots and 3 x1 slots. Both cards work in the x16 slots at the same time (directly on the board or with x1 risers). But if I plug one into an x1 slot, the x16 card works normally and the x1 card shows as Code 43 in device manager.

I tried using an earlier driver and "newer" bios but still the same. Is it the chipset? Should I try changing motherboard again? I can get a P43 or H61 motherboard combo fairly cheap. Should I try amd cards in the x1 slots instead of nvidia? I'd like to get 4-5 gpus working without spending too much.

No experience with linux. Looking for a win7 solution.

Thanks in advance.

Most likely the problem is an outdated chip x38
Perhaps this link will help determine the choice of another motherboard.

A similar issue was discussed here.
https://miningclub.info/threads/nvidia-1050ti-oshibka-43.17152/page-2

But the topic is in Russian, most likely you will need an online translator.
In short, some users were helped by the change of the riser, and someone was helped by increasing the size of the swap file

solving the problem with a hair dryer is also relevant Smiley
