Hi

I wanted to know if it is safe to Download the latest version of Electrum Wallet onto a Desktop that has a previous 2.9 Electrum wallet already on it with Bitcoin in it ?

And will it update the older version 2.9 Wallet to the newer 3.3.4 Version safely and reflect and transfer the Bitcoins in the older version to the updated 3.3.4 version ?

Any help with this would be great ? I have done this previously with a 2.9 Electrum Wallet with a small amount of bitcoin in it and the latest download updated the existing wallet fine and reflected the Bitcoin with in it without any problems, but just wanted to check the safety of this with you experts.

As long as you're sure you've got the correct seed phrase written down, and backupped the wallet files, not much could happen. (in reality, the seed phrase alone suffices, but it's never a bad idear to have a fallback).
Worst case scenario, you can restore your wallet from seed, or use the backupped wallet files...

But an upgrade like this should work out-of-the-box. If you're unsure, you can even download electrum on a clean, second pc and restore the wallet from seed without removing the original wallet from the original pc.

BTW: do verify the signature of any electrum binary you download, a lot of fake electrum download sites are popping up lately!
