Hi there! I own the domain havesomeco.in, and I am working on developing it into a full fledged free cryptocurrency site. I plan to have over 5 different free cryptocurrencies offered, and you'll obtain them through various means.

My question is, and maybe someone has more experience like with an ICO or something similar to my service, how do I gain user's trust? I KNOW I would pay people, but they don't necessarily know that. There are so many sketchy sites out there, and I don't want to appear sketchy because I'm trying to offer a legitimate service.

Another thing - how can I raise money to help put toward development of the site? Preferably in blockchain contributions, but that, again, seems suspicious - I could just run off with the money for all people know.

Thank you.

I checked on your site and I notice its not yet secured, this is very important, people wants to navigate to a secured site, ask your web host to install an ssl, some webhost company offered it free to their clients but there are free ssl also but you need to install it yourself manually.

The best thing you could probably do is to put your site online, market it a bit, and wait for it to gain organic trust. If people will be really able to withdraw their crypto, then I think they'd trust your site, unless it's ponzi scheme-ish.

As for raising money, I really don't think you're going to get any investors for such a site. Completely depends on how you're going to gain funds for your users though.

Lastly, I think you should move this to the Service Discussion[1] forum.

Your idea is very confusing. I didn't understand exactly what you will offer. I think the first step should be make things simpler and easy to understand. And them looking for review of trusted people showing how your website works

your idea already sounds pretty bad to me. you say you have "free cryptocurrencies" to offer then you want to raise funds? what is this a charity giveaway or is it a job site that people perform tasks to get paid, in which case why are you calling it "free" and why do you want to raise money?
these things seem like red flags to me. then add to that the .in domain name and it looks even less good.

sometimes your ideas may sound good to you alone but in fact they are not so good and probably have been tried by many others and have failed.

Free Crypto doesn't sound valuable...

Raising money to offer Free Crypto sounds sketchy

Just do something that helps existing or new people get into bitcoin in ANY WAY.

Many people still building decent businesses in "crypto" that has adoption and uses.

You should improve your site, otherwise be more transparent.

You need someone that will fund your project so yeah you will definitely need someone that will believe on your site, perhaps that will be the most critical stage.

Well, you're going to have to work to get your first 500 users through a direct outreach. Once they trust you, get them to talk about you everywhere - on forums, blogs and also your own website. Unless you're running a Ponzi scheme - let it build slow and steady. 2 cents. Ka-ching!

Nowadays its hard to create a free bitcoin trusted site. Make sure that you really are offering people free bitcoin and just for clickbait for ads or content locker.

Saw your site is not secure and at my end, it doesn't have a thing it's just pure white (maybe you are fixing it). When people saw free bitcoin that is being offered on a website they will always think that the site has some shady business going on.

how can I raise money to help put toward development of the site?

Raise investment from BTCPoP - (get a loan or investment) You will need to verify with them (or pay an exorbitant rate)

If you think to promote ICO, it will be too hard because people were getting scam from ICO and they are hard to believe in ICO again. My suggestion is you can give an article about cryptocurrency, especially a project that changes into IEO because I think IEO now become popular among the people.

You can raise money from the ads that you were placed in your site so you can gain more money and you can use that money to develop your site. It's only a suggestion, whether you will accept or not, it's up to you.

I think the domain has been very creative and beautiful. However, it is very difficult to succeed through a website. We have dozens of reliable and successful websites. You may have to do something very remarkable.

And I can't reach your website right now. Is there any problem or you prepare it now?

how did you two open the website, I can't seem to even open it. it seems that it doesn't yet exist (only a domain name).  besides adding the link to other places and advertising it is not going to help OP with what he wants, which is trust which is not going to happen because his idea itself is flawed and seems more like a Ponzi scheme even if it really isn't.

Honestly, you just have to make your website look trustworthy and people will automatically try it out.
I know it might be somewhat stupid advice, but you just get the ball rolling and by paying out those first users, others will also try it out.

Unless you're planning on starting some sort of ponzi scheme of course...

Looking at the name, I assume you're thinking of starting something like freebitco.in?

The one thing i can think of at start would be to make some little bounty lets say with 3-5 ETH . Thats not a big amount of money . Lets say create a twitter , facebook page for your website , keep it active . Make a twitter / facebook . Like / share / retweet bounty for lets say max 200-250 people . After you will payout the bounty pool , you will get some  trust and probably some traffic to website . Its not guarantee , but i would give it a try

Get to make solid reviews of projects and ICOs, then expose scammers, should your analysis always come true, you become a voice in this space. On the issue of raising fund to develop the website, you may appeal for fund at the end of each successful post or articles on your site. If someone is blessed by your article they may part something in other to sustain the project. You ensure you don't give a pass mark to some fake team, it's deadly and a bad way to leave in shame.

You all have given me very valuable input! Right now the site is purposefully white, I only have the domain name for now. I am working on developing the site on a different droplet.

I will not be running a ponzi scheme. I am running something similar to freebitco.in and Cointiply, users will complete tasks or view ads and receive "pieces" of cryptocurrency. They will also be able to roll, multiply, and earn interest on any balance that is in their account (meaning you could deposit a balance and earn interest on it like a bank account!) I plan to offer some sort of game, too, that would allow them to earn cryptocurrency.

My ideas aren't new, but I want to offer more than just Bitcoin. I want to offer Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero, Dogecoin, all as options of cryptocurrency that can be obtained for free or by depositing your own cryptocurrency and gambling with it.

I do not know how profitable is faucet business is. Freebitco is more of gambling site and cointiply is more of PTC site. Comparing both in one go is not correct. Why do you think user will come to your site when there are already established site?
I think, first try to come up with something innovative and fix your model and plan and start developing.

In above statement of yours I think you are mixing gaming, gambling and PTC and I do not know in next post if you come with +Exchange and +forum ideas too.

Freebitco.in gained people's trust by simply paying them on time and doing this for years. When faucets was very popular, some faucets gave huge amounts of Satoshi per hour, but they introduced huge withdrawal limits. <So, most people spend large amounts of time on their sites, but they never reached the withdrawal limit and those who did, could not withdraw their money.>

Back then, faucets sites gained income from Ads and high traffic gave huge returns for these faucet owners. Then Ad companies stopped paying for faucet traffic and Freebitco.in were forced to change to a gambling site, to retain it's users and to be in a position to fund their faucet.  Wink

Tip : Look at the Freebitco.in track record and business model and follow their example.  Wink
