Suppose we have a Bitcoin wallet. Is it possible to understand whether there is no access to this wallet for any purpose?

There will be people who wonder why I ask this question. Because I ask, I want to print a piece of metal wallet. Or rather a wallet sold in this way. There are QR codes on both sides of this wallet and one is Private and the other is Public key.

Quote

It looks like that. But I want to buy it somewhere. Or I'll create an order who can.
So I have to know that someone access ever in this wallet or not. It is a great way of keepin BTC but it is hard to trust someone.

I'm pretty sure there's no way to know, unless the person who has access did a transaction.

It looks like that. But I want to buy it somewhere. Or I'll create an order who can.
I would heavily suggest against this. For you to ask someone to make one, they'd need to have access to the private keys. aaaand that's something you definitely don't want to give access to anyone.

Wasn;'t exactly clear on what you wanted to know. But seems like you want to know if you buy this kind of a coin from someone, then will it be safe or not. The simple answer is no it won't be, because the seller would have had access to the private key. Only buy from reputed sellers selling the same. Even then, withdraw the bitcoins from the address because it will be known to the seller in the future as well.

If you order one then I guess that the private key that is embedded in that coin has a copy which is disturbing. I guess it would be best if you can create one on your own. If you have a trusted local shop there then you can embed one, I won't buy such cold storage like that.

Is it fine to scan a QR code with the background of it is in silver or gold color? I mean, in QR codes it is usually a combination of black and white color right?

It is not the main idea of this thread imho but as I know QR code can be in any color as long as there is enough contrast between the background and the foreground.
Back to the main idea which is about the safeness of buying such real coin to be used as a wallet. I dont think it is safe as the creator knows the private key, if you want to order it then you have to make sure that you order it in trusted person or company. For me, I would buy it for souvenir only or a collectible things. It is always better to store our coins in a secure wallet where we are the only one who knows the private key.

You should visit the collectibles section. There are several coins and other products that have a private key. And they serve to store Bitcoin for a long period. There in the collectibles section, enthusiasts will be able to help you explaining the safety and ways to preserve such a product. but the important thing is to know that if the private key was created by someone else, you will never have complete security over that address

Somehow, I remember this thread when you say you want to print a piece of metal wallet. You can try using laser technology, and I think you can have a print of your wallet in a metal plate.
My advice is you can search in your city and ask in the welder store with the wallet that you print on the paper so he can design in his computer to get the predesign which he can use to make in the metal plate.

Since the private key is exposed, there is no telling if the content of that coin is safe. Anyone who had access with it can just grab the keys and store it somewhere without you knowing. It is good as a token or memorabilia but it cannot store bitcoin.

The safetiness of the wallet of yours will not be sure because if you stake your private key on that coin and you lose that then that would be the end of your wallet. Your funds will be safe if you still hold that coin. But, it would be better for you to just have your priv key on an email for security.

It is not you're right but with the main idea, it has supporting ideas and that has got to do with what I said. I agree that his bitcoins will not be safe on that because it is exposed on the coin itself plus the coin was made by someone. If you trust that someone, then go let him make that coin for you. But remember, do it on your own risk.

I heavily disagree on that idea that putting your QR Code as a private key on a coin which prone to exposure which leads to a hacked wallet.
That kind of stuff was really cool but I think there is a guarantee of safeties with your private key. However, there is stuff like that in this section.
Just go to, Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Goods > Collectibles. They are all trusted there who's dealing collectibles souvenirs.

I recently bid a bitcoin coin souvenir but not having a QR code as what OP stated above.

I think it's just a little less safer than a trezor or other hard wallets but yeah, the issue is that you'd have to be the one to make it. It's a good looking wallet compared to hardwallets in the market but safety and security should always be the top consideration.

This is a risky move because the creator of that coin will always have access to your personal security details which will make you venerable any time and you found on the wallet will not be safe at that level. I will advice you to be careful before undertaking this action.

You need a engraver like Darkjon https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=132212
Who can do custom engraves. If you want a btc wallet with a loaded amount of bitcoin you need to/can visit the collectibles section. The public key is visible and the private key stays hidden.

True it is better to make one on your own because they could duplicate it and take your funds.
I also like the idea but I wouldn't risk my money on it .
You could always buy and collect some physical crypto coins and there are so many wallets that we could use it is more secure.

I got your point. It is a very good idea but I think private keys and password is more safer than your wallet idea. It is easy to stole and because there is an QR code this is easy to stole your coin on your wallet. And I think we need a high technolgy to develop your idea hope to develop amd improve it with more security featured.

It's fine with public key but I would suggest you to not share your private key.

You can write your pvk on piece of paper and put it somewhere safe like bank lockers or something than sharing with those qr code printer guys.

you are asking about physical bitcoins and what they do, so you have to search that. the easiest way is to use encryption meaning the user creates the private key, encrypts it and then hands it over to the producer to engrave on the physical bitcoin for him. that is safe because it is protected by a cryptographic function such as AES for example. there are other complicated options like bip38[1] that standardize such methods.
